Title: Jonny the mule........ Post by Maffumatt on Oct 31st, 2007, 8:43am http://frostfirezoo.com/a-true-bad-ass.html?q=a-true-bad-ass http://frostfirezoo.com/files/u1/fight1a.jpg http://frostfirezoo.com/files/u1/fight1b.jpg http://frostfirezoo.com/files/u1/fight1c.jpg http://frostfirezoo.com/files/u1/fight1d.jpg A couple from Montana were out riding on the range, he with his rifle and she (fortunately) with her camera. Their dogs always followed them, but on this occasion a Mountain Lion decided that he wanted to stalk the dogs (you'll see the dogs in the background watching). Very, very bad decision... The hunter got off the mule with his rifle and decided to shoot in the air to scare away the lion, but before he could get off a shot the lion charged in and decided he wanted a piece of those dogs. With that, the mule took off and decided he wanted a piece of that lion. That's when all hell broke loose... for the lion. As the lion approached the dogs the mule snatched him up by the tail and started whirling him around. Banging its head on the ground on every pass. Then he dropped it, stomped on it and held it to the ground by the throat. The mule then got down on his knees and bit the thing all over a couple of dozen times to make sure it was dead, than whipped it into the air again, walked back over to the couple (that were stunned in silence) and stood there ready to continue his ride... as if nothing had just happened. Fortunately even though the hunter didn't get off a shot, his wife got off these 4. |

Title: Re: Jonny the mule........ Post by nani on Oct 31st, 2007, 12:03pm My former neighbor did mule and donkey rescue. I used to have a pot bellied pig, who ate like a butcher hog. She was probably 150 lbs. One morning I woke to what sounded like a bear fight. I looked out the window, and there was one of the mules, holding that enormous pig in her mouth and shaking her back and forth. The mule took the fence down and went after my poor lil piggy. :( $350 later, the piggy was back home and healing. The neighbor paid the vet bill, and the repaired the fence. Mules can be quite aggressive. |

When visiting grandpa back in the early to mid 60's we were always warned not to go near Papa's mules because they would kick or stomp the life out of you. I think he used them as really big guard dogs for the farm. They were free to roam the property at night but behind the fence during the day. It was a mad dash to the out house for those midnight meditations. Yup - no running water in their farm home. |

Or you. When doing the research on the family tree I found out how Pops grandfather died, he awoke one night with a lion in his bedroom. After killing the cat he died two weeks later from infections. No bearing here but I thought it was cool.......well not that he died...well you know... BTW just how long of a search on snopes did it take to find the real story? |

Title: Re: Jonny the mule........ Post by Kevin_M on Oct 31st, 2007, 2:49pm In this first picture, the mule has what looks like scratches on his underbelly that could be spur marks maybe, below the little saddlebag. http://frostfirezoo.com/files/u1/fight1a.jpg This second picture doesn't seem to show those marks. http://frostfirezoo.com/files/u1/fight1b.jpg They could be pieced together from the mule with different lions. Snopes mentions he was with more than two. |
