My grandmother is currently in ICU after a fall that broke her hip and they need to do sx but have decided that her heart isn't strong enough to go through with it. We aren't sure at this point what the options are. :'(

I saw her for the first time in 20 years recently after alot of family troubles (long story) and really want to be able to be able to reconnect as a family. I feel like I might lose her right after I got her back.

It is crazy how you can go so long with out seeing someone and and then when you finally see them again it is like no time has passed.

We just got an update that in order to do the sx she has to have a pacemaker put in or she will be bedridden until she passes if she refuses the pace maker. :-/

Thank you all! It truely means more than I can say. She decided yesterday that she is going to go ahead with the pacemaker and is going in this afternoon and after this than they are going to try the hip sx.

Cross your fingers all goes well.

Do any of you know what is included with the pace maker? Is it pretty invasive or just a simple procedure?

I just wanted to say thanks again to all of you. I a very grateful to all of you for being so kind.

Grandma went in on tues for PaceMaker and that went well and has sx yesterday afternoon and everything went well. Now just the healing part but I really couldn't have hoped for a better outcome.
