Title: Need your opinion (baby purchase)...
Post by Melissa on Oct 26th, 2007, 11:27am
Ok, I normally wouldn't post somethin like this, but I thought it was too ironic. ;;D

I found this cute crib set and am wondering if I should get it...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200166922302

I am doing pastel butterflies on Ava's (right now Lily's) yellow walls and thought that balloons and butterflies will mix just fine, lmao.

Wut do you think?

Just my opinion - take it for what it's worth - stark contrast provides the best visual stimulation for babies. Black and white. Holstein cows, that kind of thing.

Now tell me to crawl back under my rock.

Babies room is for relaxation and sleeping.  She'll be stimulated enough when she's not in there. ;)

Now crawl back under your rock Brew, LOL!

Mooooooooo!!

Looks like some comfy padding for her.  That and, what looks like valence or curtain walls around her could deaden sound so she sleeps like a bug in a rug.  :)

Her crib could have an empty Gateway computer box mobile dangling over it.  ;)   Add a black light and those whites will glow!
I always wondered why the poplularity with those cows.

We did son's room in white with black and white cow accents.  We even had a blow up Holstein (from none other than the Milk Marketing Board!) dancing above his bed like a mobile . . . .

Any wonder the (now 15 year old) kid overdoses on dairy products?

Both of my kids rooms, where done with dragons and fairys.  They still have the same posters up uin their rooms now that they had the day we brought them home.  Now once has they asked to change them,  so I guess we did good.

It is very pretty Melissa, if I still had Mireille's crib set, I would have sent it to you but I already passed it to my sister in law for her little girl and I don't know what she did with it, I don't know if it is ok to ask for it back  :(...

Anyway, that one in ebay is very nice and she is including lots of stuff with it. Just be sure not to forget to get the mattress cover and sheets.

I love ballons and buterflies and of course fairies, Mireille's room is soooo pink and Tinkerbell is everywhere but also, Barbie and Strawberry shortcake...

OH I love decorating children's rooms !! ;;D

                                    hugs

                                                      Rosy.

Already purchased. ;;D

Thanks guys for your opinions.  I was going to use Eli's old quilt he got from a nice lady who's daughter went to school with Lily, but it's blue and white and well... :-/  I'm reusing a lot of stuff I had with Eli, even bottles (just gotta get new nips), but I wanted something more feminine for Ava and the balloons are just too sweet.  I'm not a pink, frilly person when it comes to girls, never was with Lily either, so I tend to stay away from that stuff.

Guess that's why Lily is sometimes out on the front step in her bathrobe at 7am with BB gun in hand trying to get the gophers and red squirrels. ;;D

The only thing more fun than decorating a little girls room is dressing her! Have fun! Her room is going to be beautiful!

What a catch!

In a few years, I'd like to introduce her to our son.

;;D  I just sold 4 of my mosaic crosses on eBay and made just enough to pay for the bedding minus shipping.

Guess we're being looked after... ;)

Well crap.  Nevermind.  Even though she said she'd throw in a matching mobile, she quoted me $30 to $50 for shipping for everything.  That's way too much for me to afford. :(

Oh well...  I have some cute butterfly sets I've found, so I'll just choose one of them. ;)

Thanks you guys!

update:  I think I'm going with this blanket.  It's new and hand crocheted.  Very simple colors that match the 80's bumper pad I bought for $1.99 at Goodwill. ;;D  Plus it's only $12.50 + $8.00 shipping.  Perfect!

Hand made is the best...  I'm gettin all warm & fuzzy now. [smiley=laugh.gif]

I like that crocheted blanket Mel.

As to the other: OMG what a description!. Yikes.

I hope it's a template for somebody; if not, it will take another week for the next listing.
