Title: Ok, im old... Post by Jonny on Oct 18th, 2007, 11:52pm But I still have the brain of a twenty year old! Still can laugh at someone that trips over a crack in the sidewalk (and laugh as they look at what they tripped over) still can laugh at anyone falling down.....and more Still love heavy metal and im 45 years old. I can remember when sex class taught chicks how to you use a cotex, and guys what could happen if they sunk it it in.....Man, im sounding like BarbD with her post about her day in the sun. Ive come to realise that I am not old , if im 45 with long hair and still love heavy metal music....I am no way old......am I? Fuck your answer it dont matter......LOL ;;D Question: What do you consider old? |

Title: Re: Ok, im old... Post by DennisM1045 on Oct 18th, 2007, 11:56pm Age is all a state of mind. Title: Re: Ok, im old... Post by ClusterChuck on Oct 19th, 2007, 12:01am 45 ain't old! I still feel, in my mind, that I am a ten year old .. but my body tells me different. It pisses me off that my bod doesn't recoup after an injury, like it did when I was 20! What was it, mid July when I broke my neck? I am still fighting to get back to the way I was before the accident! The first time I felt that I was old, was when talking to an employee of mine, whom I considered an adult, and I discovered that I was the same age, or older, than his parents! Shit, now I am finding that I am in the same age bracket as their GRANDPARENTS!!! FUCK!!! Maybe I am old ... Gramps Chuckie-poo ... Edited to add: Now I find I qualify for senior citizen discounts, in a lot of places! |

Title: Re: Ok, im old... Post by Kevin_M on Oct 19th, 2007, 12:32am From the 50's I was born in, it's another world now. Compared to the era of the 60's and 70's I grew up in, I'm ancient. To the 80's and 90's, I'm older. But younger than the next 10's decade. So now, between older and younger. ;) |

Title: Re: Ok, im old... Post by sandie99 on Oct 19th, 2007, 3:11am I've always thought that age is a number, "old" depends on how you feel. Sure, age does brings things with it, but plenty depends how you deal with it. Ok, I'm only 27, but I feel a lot younger than I did at 14. I'll probably never feel that old again, lol. And I plan to misbehave the more the older I get... ;) Perhaps I'll even wear a bikini at 70! [smiley=laugh.gif] It's still funny (in a sad way) that young mums (who are about my age) refer me as 'ma'am' or 'lady' they talk to their kids... ::) I don't quite get that; what's wrong with 'woman'? :-X My mum is 63, but looks like 43. I had an uncle who was more active at 90 than most people are at 20. And it's odd that my great aunt has better memory than I do and she's 88. Whoops... ;;D My [smiley=twocents.gif] Sanna |

Title: Re: Ok, im old... Post by LeLimey on Oct 19th, 2007, 4:14am I'm not "old" and I never will be. :) Age isn't a number, its an attitude. There isn't anyone here who I consider "old". To me you're all just "you", the people you are and you're my friends because I enjoy spending time with you not because we're in the same age bracket. What a wasted life it would be if we stopped doing the things we want just because they aren't "appropriate" to our age. Okay, enough typing. I'm off to ring doorbells and run away ;;D |

Title: Re: Ok, im old... Post by BarbaraD on Oct 19th, 2007, 5:42am Age is mind over matter -- if you don't mind - it don't matter.... Some people are OLD at 20 -- some are still young at 90. And just because there's snow on the roof don't mean there's not a lot of hunt left in the old dog.. oh hell never could get my metaphors straight ;;D I laugh about being OLD, but I've had a heck of a lot of fun getting here and plan to have a lot more fun before it's over (right Chuck?). Title: Re: Ok, im old... Post by Paul98 on Oct 19th, 2007, 5:47am Old is whatever age I am and then add ten ;;D In a full day of hard work I can still grind a 20 or 30 year old into the ground and keep going. The only difference is the next day they will be reaching for coffee, I'll be reaching for Motrin [smiley=laugh.gif]. Age is a matter of mind Jonny and from the sound of it you are blessed with eternal youth ;) I can picture it now; you @ 97 with the 3-three foot long strands of hair that are still left on your head, air guitaring to the tunes of the same heavy metal song over and over again because you are so scenile you forgot you just played it before and you are as happy as a clam. By then you will have posted your 10,000,000th post on CH.com ;;D ;;D ;;D Bro, ya aint old until you think you are old. I still think of myself as being in my late 20's in my mind although the body has had it's protests against my mind. LOL Rock on bro! -P. |

For now I will keep biking hopefully well into my 80's. |

Title: Re: Ok, im old... Post by echo on Oct 19th, 2007, 9:38am I felt quite differently about my age two/three years ago. I was 50 feeling early thirties with the fantasies of a 20 year old. Now that body parts are wearing out and being removed, knees are shot and needing replacement in the near future and sex performance is iffy at best I definately feel my 53 years. Getting out of bed in the morning and walking I swear I'm damn near 70. Guess I'm getting closer of going into the afterlife with a shot body and exclaiming " That was a hell of a ride". My wife on the other hand is 47 and looks 30. Some mornings that 40 year difference is a topic of a crappy discussion. Oh well, just shoot me! |

Title: Re: Ok, im old... Post by assaultme on Oct 19th, 2007, 10:34pm I dunno Jonny. I'm 45 as well and dont see myself as old. God knows I have the immaturity thing down...so I guess I am still young. Interesting question tho. When I was a boy, my Father seemed so old and solid like a rock. He never appeared to have even one flaw !!! Of course when I got older (and he got smarter laugh) I realized that those were just the times. He and my Mother are still alive and don't act or behave old at all. His body is about to give out and we expect him to not last through the year, but he is still young at heart. To me, it is a bit silly to believe "you are only as old as you feel".......but there is something good to be said about keeping current and not becoming "old mentally" Lets face it, our bodies give out when we grow too old in years, but keeping ones mind young has an appeal to me very much so. Cheers, Dave |
