Title: Storm's comin' in... Kinda nervous Post by ski2k on Oct 18th, 2007, 1:26am Yeah... Got some severe weather comin my way. That don't bother me. What DOES bother me, is the fact that even though I've been having good luck with my RC seed treatment, the storm or storms that are comin' have been giving me pretty good (bad?) shadows for the last few hours. They just don't seem to want to go away! Just crossing my fingers and hoping my seed therapy keeps these shadows from developing into something worse... Freakin' out a bit. Wish me luck? Thanx all.... Adam |

Title: Re: Storm's comin' in... Kinda nervous Post by nani on Oct 18th, 2007, 1:31am Good luck. :) If it's been a few days, why not grind up some seeds and put them under your tongue, Adam. While I've never tried it with seeds, some people report very good abortive results with that. Freaking out is not allowed. ;) hugs, nani |

Title: Re: Storm's comin' in... Kinda nervous Post by ski2k on Oct 18th, 2007, 3:00am Thanks Nani, Sanna. I'm still hangin in there! Trying not to let the beast get ahold of me. If things get ANY worse than they are right now, Nani, I will try crushing a few and putting them under my tongue. Gonna try and ride it out for now, as it's just at the point where I can live with it. I also want to say thanks to you again, Nani. You always seem to give me the best advice and compassion, always one of the first to answer my posts, giving me encouragement, and just generally "being there" every time I seem to need it the most. I can't wait to meet you and give you one of these [smiley=hug.gif] in person!! Just don't be suprised if I start crying like a baby.... ;) Thanks again! Nervous but hopeful, Adam |

Title: Re: Storm's comin' in... Kinda nervous Post by Smurfysmurff on Oct 18th, 2007, 3:19am I completely understand being nervous about a storm coming in. A storm just came through a few hours ago. Although, my problem's not the beast, but the storm. I HATE storms. Never can sleep during a storm. I seem to have this irrational fear of sleeping through a tornado and waking up dead or something. Can't stand it. I'll admit it, I'm 21 years old, and if I'm at my mom's during a storm, I'll go sleep in bed with her. Ain't nuttin momma can't make better.......except for the beast. |

Title: Re: Storm's comin' in... Kinda nervous Post by LeLimey on Oct 18th, 2007, 3:32am Adam it seems quite a few of us are affected by changes in barometric pressure. I always know if there is going to be a storm simply by how my head is and nothing changes that. It's one of my triggers at any rate. One thing that does seem to help me is the old red bull trick (was using Rockstar last time and it was not nearly as vile as red bull is!) I hope that helps at times when you've just dosed or whatever or if you're away from home - any time when you can't use seeds as a sput. Even OTC painkillers can sometimes shift shadows but funnily enough the only thing that just doesn't work on shadows for me is O2 and its my first choice every other time! (When I say it doesn't work I mean it relieves the shadow while I'm using it but it comes back as soon as I stop so it doesn't get rid of it) Hope that helps, at least you're not alone. I know at times I've thought I was going mad and then someone else would post they went through the same thing. It helped me any way knowing others understood Hang in there, how are you feeling today? Helen |

Title: Re: Storm's comin' in... Kinda nervous Post by ski2k on Oct 18th, 2007, 3:57am Thanks Helen. Yeah, weather has always been a big trigger for me too, Along with alcohol. Since I found out about the energy trick, I've used it several times, but the shadows I've just been getting don't seem to be effected by it. These are pretty damn stubborn ones! (I've had about 4 shadows in the last 8 hours or so, each one lasting over an hour, and coming back about 30 min later.) I didn't feel like tempting the beast any further, so I Haven't slept. It looks like from the forecast it's supposed to be stormy all day. Maybe I'll be able to catch a nap later. We'll see! Take care! Adam |

Title: Re: Storm's comin' in... Kinda nervous Post by sandie99 on Oct 18th, 2007, 4:07am Adam, have you tried ginger ale with the shadows? I've noticed that it helps me with them. :) PF wishes, Sanna |

Title: Re: Storm's comin' in... Kinda nervous Post by Smurfysmurff on Oct 18th, 2007, 4:27am Oh forgot to mention earlier. The only thing that actually seems to help my shadows, is to keep a bag of ice on my head. I'm not sure why, but if I just leave a bag of ice laying on my head, it seems to help relieve the shadows sometimes. Don't know if you've tried it, or if it'll even help you but it's a suggestion. Hope you find something to help. |

Title: Re: Storm's comin' in... Kinda nervous Post by ski2k on Oct 18th, 2007, 4:36am Thanks, Smurf! Neither ice or heat have seemed to do anything in the past to help, but I appreciate the advice! I did take some Ibuprofen a few hours ago, and that seems to be keeping things at a bearable level. I guess my biggest worry is that the next shadow I get isn't gonna stop at a kip 3 or so, and keep going! Take care! Adam And I agee.... Mom's can cure about anything! ;) But us dad's aren't bad at it either! ;;D |

Title: Re: Storm's comin' in... Kinda nervous Post by sldrswyfe on Oct 18th, 2007, 6:41am Im with you Adam...a storm is a storm...it's coming...the ch... Storms never frightened me....unitil I lived in Fl., Hurrican season terrified me. We got a semi bad one...and of course it was the year I had a broken leg... I was so afraid I wouldn't be able to run (as if I'd be able to anyway...) it was un nerving...and I was alone when it hit badly...chairs flying by the windows... Glad Im not worried about that anymore. Hope you're feeling better... |

Title: Re: Storm's comin' in... Kinda nervous Post by BarbaraD on Oct 18th, 2007, 7:20am Yep, a storm is definitely coming... my head is a predictor every time. When the barometer changes - shadows appear and then a hit. Think I should have been a weatherman - I'm right more than he is. ;;D Red Bull, O2, Excedrin (only use them every once in a while - 3 with coffee - jolt of caffiene) ice packs, and if that don't work - the cafergot (last resort - I hate the stuff). But today if definitely a "storm" day. In fact it's my "Little Old Ladies Card Day" (we play "vicious" card games at the old school house on Thursdays) and I think I'm gonna skip it today - most of the little old ladies are pushing 80 and I don't want to scare them with a hit. Right now my eye is almost swollen shut. Oh well - that's the joy of being a clusterhead.... your social life goes to hell.... Hugs BD |

Title: Re: Storm's comin' in... Kinda nervous Post by Kevin_M on Oct 18th, 2007, 8:57am Adam, Sounds like at this time with the barometric trigger straining your seed preventative to the point you don't want to sleep to tempt it, the results could go either way, stand it off or keep straining further. You seem inbetween right now but pretty uncomfortable about it. With the long-welling ones, if it should decide to make a breakthrough, I've had much tougher time aborting them so usually choose to keep knocking it down and when using oxygen, repeatedly upon return, not allowing it too much of a foothold. Your's seems really stubborn now, too. Consider nani's idea to touch up the seed preventative if it is safe to do so, Adam, this weather trigger sounds pretty strong, your method may need some reinforcements to deal with it, or they can help maybe to abort, too. |

Put it this way, I had a h/a all day yesterday and was going to chalk it up to my pregnancy when wouldn't ya know it, it's freaking raining this morning. I'm not even in cycle! :P Once a CH'er, always a CH'er. :( |

Title: Re: Storm's comin' in... Kinda nervous Post by ski2k on Oct 18th, 2007, 11:08am Thank you all so much! That last energy drink FINALLY knocked it out. Well... a combo of that and 800mg Ibuprofen. Maybe I'm weird (OK, I know I'm weird), but I can usually tell if the shadow is gonna come back soon after it leaves. I just feel a little "off" if it's coming right back. Right now, I feel fine (finally)!! I'm thinking of catching a little nap before the next round of storms roll in later today. Sorry to hear some of you are also getting bad weather and nasty hits too. Hang in there! PF wishes to you all, Adam |

Title: Re: Storm's comin' in... Kinda nervous Post by Rosybabe on Oct 18th, 2007, 6:53pm I get all sort of ugly things with the bad weather, for starters my hands hurt and my neck from a prior injury....and then I am scared like a chicken of thunders!! :o I have ended up several times under the bed when one of them boom too bad :(... Adam, hope you get to keep the shadows away, I take a couple of excedrin with a heavy cup of coffee and that works for me. Wishing you pain free days ahead... Hugs Rosy. |

Title: Re: Storm's comin' in... Kinda nervous Post by sandie99 on Oct 19th, 2007, 3:59am Rosy, I don't thunder and lightnings at all... One thing I like about the Finnish fall and winter time is that we don't get those! Cold, snow and all that, but NO thunder and lightnings. ;;D |
