Title: Re: What are you going to be for Halloween? Post by sandie99 on Oct 17th, 2007, 3:31am Nothing... We don't celebrate Halloween back in here. But if we did (stores do stock up some decorations and costumes), I'd arrange a party and dress up as a witch. Don't worry, Helen, I would leave the hat and the broom alone, I just saw a cute witch's dress at one store... ;;D When a friend of mine hosted a Halloweed party about 12 years ago, I dressed up as a ghost. I even made a chain to go with the outfit. ;;D Sanna |

Title: Re: What are you going to be for Halloween? Post by jimmers on Oct 17th, 2007, 9:21am No costume but I'm going to do what I did last year. Last year I put our front porch bench toward the entrance so everyone could see it. Then we put out a bowl of candy and a large pumpkin next to it (Self serve so to speak) But inside the pumpkin we hide one of those remote "Fart machine" noise makers. While watching from inside behind the curtains, everytime the kids go to grab a piece of candy, I hit the remote button and out comes a big ripper. the kids laugh their butts off and so do we. Some of the reactions are absolutely hilarious, especially from the parents. It doesn't take much to keep me entertained, but it is a blast ;;D Jimmers |

Title: Re: What are you going to be for Halloween? Post by Gator on Oct 17th, 2007, 10:33am I'm going to a warmly dressed 44 year old grandpa taking his granddaughter out trick or treating. Why Trick-Or-Treating is Better Than Sex 10. You are guaranteed to get at least a little something in the sack. 9. If you get tired, you can wait ten minutes and go at it again. 8. The uglier you look, the easier it is to get some. 7. You don't have to compliment the person who gives you some. 6. It's okay when the person you're with fantasizes you're someone else, because you are. 5. Forty years from now you'll still enjoy candy. 4. If you don't like what you get, you can always go next door. 3. It doesn't matter if the kids hear you moaning and groaning. 2. Less guilt the morning after. 1. You can DO the whole neighborhood. |

Title: Re: What are you going to be for Halloween? Post by AussieBrian on Oct 17th, 2007, 8:18pm Everyone knows the Cinderella story so if you want a halloween costume, just go one better. Dress yourself up as the eighth dwarf, Farty, who no-one talks about any more on account of political correctness, litigation and a strangled sense of good taste and history. Or the ninth dwarf, LeLimey, with broom-stick, cheese-cake and breasts exposed. You could go as the tenth dwarf, Chewy, just take along your own bail, or even the eleventh dwarf.... no, let's not talk about the eleventh dwarf. The twelfth dwarf, Artony, with a hat so scary it wouldn't get you just treats, it'd get you the entire treats-factory with a set of steak-knives thrown in for free. And there's more!! And where's our dear friend Sean-C when we need him most? I suspect a conspiracy involving dwarfs nine and eleven and the sudden appearance of body parts available cheap on E-bay. The thirteenth dwarf, Purpley, riding high on a big fat mushroom. The fourteenth dwarf, Barry, hugging trees and having intimate conversations (and what else?) with the fifteenth dwarf himself - Mr Happy! Accepting nothing but only giving in return. The 16th and 17th dwarfs, Mooshie and Nani, hunt as a pack so beware. CIA records show that this time last year they came home with 4lbs of candy, 3 signed-up mortgages, 2 bright-pink cadillacs and a partridge in a pear tree, along with Howard Hughs' missing will. They never even went out in costume and the matter of the missing body-parts remains current. Or you could dress up and go out as the eighteenth dwarf, Sandy, because even the threat of an Alpine yodel is a guarantee that your treats-bag will be filled within seconds, and all this before anyone even mentions the clothing habits of the country that invented the sauna and spa. I'm especially fond of the eigtheenth dwarf, but choose not to share my photographs. Or you could simply go as the last dwarf, Aussie, the cutest of them all. If these ideas aren't enough then you're prefectly welcome to send me a personal PM message and I'll happily pass on costume suggestions from such classics as The King and moi, Ginger Rogers does Fred Astaire, Disney does Dallas, or Bugs Bunny takes on the Iron Chefs. Happy Halloween one and all. |

We usually speak of them only around the campfire, after the haunted hayride. You risk bad juju for exposing them here, Aussie dwarf nineteen. But, since you have, I must ask....is it an accident that the eighth dwarf (farty) is placed next to the ninth dwarf (Helen)? Or is that just for extra lift? :) |

Title: ke Re: What are you going to be for Halloween? Post by sldrswyfe on Oct 21st, 2007, 1:57pm I have a really cool idea for Halloween....for trick or treaters... To make things festive...get a tub...oval shaped...wooden or metal. Fill with water. Get apples. Using a fruit baller, take out the core, scoop a hole in it to hold tea lites...it looks beautiful...they float in the water...it is stunning. On your porch....or even inside the door if you have an apt like me...or somewhere trick or treaters can see...you can reuse the apples too...put lemon juice on them, and put them in the fridge when your'e done for the nite.... |

Title: Re: What are you going to be for Halloween? Post by assaultme on Oct 21st, 2007, 2:03pm We don't get but 4 or 5 kids at Halloween. It's a damn shame that things like this get taken away from kids by hysterical adults. Some or maybe most cities have a limit on how late kids can go out and trick or treat. That to me is none of their damn business. When we were kids, we went out until 11 or 12 p.m. If a parent wants to accompany their own kid or give em a curfew , thats just fine. There are no more people out to harm kids today than there were when I was a kid. Probably less drunk drivers. I know it's a bit off topic, but it is a shame how things are these days. Dave |

Besides the adults, there were about 40 teenagers there. At some point, Ellen sat down next to me on the couch. I told her she ought to ask one of the teenage boys to dance.
