for Angie's brother Bernie. He had congested heart failure back in August of this year. Well today at 8:00am he is going to have triple bypass surgery at Newmarket Hospital about 2 hours from here.

We know this is an everyday procedure for the surgeons but the problem is his weight. He was tipping the scales at 400 lbs and has lost some weight but is still way too big. This has us quite concerned.

Bernie is one of the very few that even begins to understand my CH's and really cares about them. I have shown him this site and all my friends and supporters here. He knows how you have helped me cope and survive living with CH's.

Angie and I would really appreciate any prayer's that you can send his way for a safe surgery.

THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH! Bernie's surgery went better than expected. It took 5 hours and his heart is in rhythm but still in critical but stable condition for the next 24 hours.

He requested we go about our work and stuff today and had his wife and daughter with him. His daughter Tina called us as soon as he was out of surgery with the good news. I respected his request. We are heading down to see him tomorrow morning as he will be awake.

I am going to print this page off and take with me to read it to him. I always believed in "strength in numbers" and once again with all the prayers from all of you and his family he is doing better than expected.

Angie and I are very grateful to be part of this CH family and want to thank each and everyone of you's for your support, it means more than you know.

We will keep you updated on this as we know more. You bunch are very special indeed.

Thank you each and everyone of you. We just got home from the city. When we went in to ICU to see Bernie. He was awake and smiled and winked at us. He is doing fantastic!! I printed off this post and read it to him and he thanks all of you so much. I know these positive prayers and vibes really do work so thanks again.

His color is good and he asked Angie to come over to his side and she bent down to ask what he needed and he said" see that white tube next to green one? Would you mind giving me a little scratch under it?"  [smiley=laugh.gif]

Angie and I took his wife and daughter out for lunch and afterwards we gave hugs and kisses as we all are very relieved. He is one strong dude. He is determined to lose a lot of weight and I promised I would be his supporter on this.

I appreciate all the support we got from you's and bless you all.

Thanks for the update, Barry.  Sounds like Bernie is a fighter.

His recovery will take a while but he seems determined and I have a feeling he will do well.

I bet he appreciated your visit so much.
