Title: :(  Wow
Post by kayarr on Oct 12th, 2007, 1:46am
  :-[
We got flippin' robbed today.  Home break in.  Brought the mother-in-law to the assisted living place for her first night and when we all got home the lap top was gone.  Drawers were gone through, and grandmas' jewelery gone.  They got the game unit, the big flash light and a DVD and a star trek dvd collection.  Fortunately Gma's good jewelry was with her but I sure feel violated.

Oh, how awful.  :'(
I cannot imagine how hard that is. To know someone's been in our house, going through your things.

I'm sorry, Kim. You're in my prayers.

BIG hugs, nani

I'm so sorry to hear about your being broken into and robbed...what a dreadful feeling of violation! It happened a few months ago to me one morning while I was still asleep...some idiot kicked in the door to my condo (??) and stole my purse off the kitchen island. I bet it freaked him out that someone was home cause I was out of bed like a shot.

All I could think of was being grateful that I was alright...that whole situation was bad but things could have went terribly wrong, ya know?

It sucks but stuff is just that, stuff...replaceable and not life threatening...I'm sorry for your loss but I sure am glad you and your family is alright.

Don't worry too much about sleeping, the bastard (s) got what they wanted...no need to come back and bug you now.

Omg that sucks!!  :-/  Do you know if you were the only ones in the neighborhood to get hit?

I'm so sorry, but I'm so glad that no one was home during the break-in.  You just never know what could have happened.

Stuff can be replaced...your lives can't!!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you!!

Crap Kim! I know how it feels, but that won't help you to put the sense of being violated behind you.

Pay heed to Steph's message regarding "stuff" and try to find solace in the fact that whoever did this is very unlikely to target you again.

Big dogs are good! I kind of favor Mastiffs ;)

Warm regards......Tim

I'm sorry to hear this, Kim.  Having your home burglarized is a violation.  I think that's the worst part of it.

Best wishes,

George

OMG!!  Sorry to hear about your loss Kim.  It is good that u were not home.  Also my mother's house was broken in and they tied her up and mugged her.  Took everything.  The most that hurted her were her feelings out of the ordeal.  She moved.  I think a dog or alarm system would be good for u.  Our prayers out to u and your family.

Thank you all!  Went in to go to bed last night(the kids are down from puyallup for Jeff's birthday) and noticed that my pillow case was gone.  (They had used it for booty)   I replaced the case and fell asleep on the couch.
It is just stuff.
A lot more could have gone wrong.  Like I told Jeff, someone could have interrupted the burgler and gotten hurt.
Thank you again for the prayers.
oh, as long as you are praying.  My Dad just had a pace maker put in yesterday.  Its good but peace for Mom and continued healing for him would be wonderful.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
Love to you all,
Kimberly

I'm so sorry that happened and glad everyone is ok.  Stuff can be replaced.  The violation feeling is what really sucks.  Had my pruse stolen out of my car that was parked in my closed garage a couple weekends ago.  All the little bastards got was 15.00........

Again, glad everyone is ok.  Prayers going out for your dad and speedy healing.

Beth

I'm so sorry to hear this Kimberly.  Thank God no one was hurt.

Maybe I'm watching too many CSI episodes but I wonder if this wasn't an inside job from the assisted living place.  Who else knew you would be out?

Take care...

Kimberly,
WOW????  WOW????????????????  I think I'd be saying
@#$$#%^&&&*&$#@#%^&^&()*&&^^^&*((&^%$$##....at the very least!
I am soo sorry this happened to you!
Tried to call you this morning, but you, you trooper, went on to work, after what must've been a very fitful night's sleep(once you got there).....
I'm thinking you need a big old barking dog-with a baseball bat!
What is it about some people who think what's YOURS is also THEIRS????????????? That really chaps me!
You know where I am ifn ya wanna chat or, of course, if you need anything-

....oh, and happy Birthday, Jeff......sheesh......... :-/

Cathi :-*

I am so glad y'all are ok!  I hope the cops nail the S.O.B(s) quickly and you can recover what is YOURS.

Stuff can be replaced even if they don't get 'em, but please take some security measures, k?  You can even buy a security camera at Walmart! (and a big LOUD dog makes a great alarm system!)

Sending peace vibes,
Jen

I'm sorry to hear of your break in. When we lived in Panama, break ins were pretty common. We never were robbed, however many of our neighbors were. We had the most noisey little dauchsund that barked a blue streak if something was unusual. My big goldens that I have now would greet the robber with blankie or toy in mouth ready to play. Dogs really are great deterents but the key is to get a smart one that knows when to bark! So glad you are all safe!

Sorry Kim to hear this happened to you !

Its so scary to think that ones home can be violated in such a way.

Take care and I hope they catch the guys.

You might like to check the local pawn shops to see if any of your stuff turn up there, as if you can prove that they are yours by providing receipts, pictures, serial numbers etc , you can get them back.

Edited to add: All pawn shops keep video record and personal record of anyone who comes in to pawn goods so that may assist the police to identify the thieves and catch them

That beyond sucks and it is truly a violation.

They peeled the safe and smashed up some displays at our store a couple of times when I was a kid but they never got into the house. That isn't the same thing.

You have every reason to come here and scream.
