Title: Re: man's pride injured ? Post by Redd on Oct 8th, 2007, 8:44pm Society has scared men from growing up, and that is the problem. Society has in many ways babied our youth so that they grow up being over protected, leaving then without the ability to determine right from wrong during the formative years. Don't spank, don't yell, don't disipline. Then they are unprepared for the real world. It's no wonder the youth lash out with violence against bullies who taunt them, they can't be "protected" anymore by the simplistic means in place. It overwhelems them when the tacticaly adept skate under the politically correct radar and chew into the lesser equipt. Ok before I go off on a tangent of magnatude I'll leave this last tidbit. Society is, without knowing, depleating our youth of the means they need to survive. Common Sence. |

Title: Re: man's pride injured ? Post by Maffumatt on Oct 8th, 2007, 10:50pm LOL I used to have a couple emu's a guy talked me into takeing....at no cost.....One got out one day, I know I had to look like an idiot out in that pasture chasing that SOB around. After I cornered it and tackled the damn thing I had to drag it back to its pen. That was the longest 100 yards I have ever traveled in my life. That bird beat the living shit out of me,,...Seriously! I had bruises from my neck to my knees. The next time he got out..... I ate him. |

Title: Re: man's pride injured ? Post by Ghost on Oct 9th, 2007, 8:29am I kinda feel like you brew. If I got my butt kicked by the big bird after breaking in then I would have deserved it and let it go. Now on the other hand If the bird got out and attacked it would be on at that point. Extra large roaster! Yumm Yumm even bigger than a big Turkey. Mike |

I agree Brew!!! Pegg does make some very valid points. I think she hit the nail on the head in describing many young people. It's also important to remember that not all Fathers bring their kids up that way tho. The MAJORITY of us do what is right and it shows as my 3 boys are good kids and don't get into trouble with the law. Many of us still raise our kids the old fashioned way..."common sense" as Pegg says......is not dead !!! Cheers, Dave BTW, keep in mind that for every one young man who does something stupid, there are a million other who do what is right. Negative news sells. Just cause you hear: "Boy shoots classmate cause of insult" there are a million others who don't. Think the news will print a story called: "group of young male students go to school, get good grades and don't cause trouble" ????!!!??? Not likely a story with any "shock" potential. As a young boy I never liked being grouped together and blamed for the actions of others. |

Title: Re: man's pride injured ? Post by assaultme on Oct 9th, 2007, 10:21am Another point to add is that these two goons apparently never learned that wild animals do not do things out of spite....like humans!! They do things on instinct. The bird probably felt threatened...besides they were trespassing. Wouldn't have happened if they hadn't invaded it's space. Thats kinda like swimming with sharks, then wondering why one bit you [smiley=huh.gif] I was once at a friends house. She offered me to pick up one of her new pups. When I did, the mother dog reached up and chewed off a piece of my chin. I didn't get mad at the dog. She likely felt I would do her pups harm. Dogs too act on instinct. It's not like I talked to the mother dog & got permission ::) I didn't really deserve to get bit, but it is just nature I was experiencing. No need to misunderstand why. Just a couple of idiots I think. Dave |

You're a man after my own.....uh heart... I guess. 8) Somehow, it seems to me that when one tresspasses on an ostrich ranch, getting clobbered by one woudn't merit any response but duh..stupid us. Seven months for this? Make them work on the ranch and fine the shit out of them. Too many people in the slammer for being stupid lately. What do they expect these idiots to learn in there? .... and it will cost thousands to feed them. Dumbth. [img][http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/slap.gif/img] Charlie |
