Title: Re: From the*Some People Never Learn*dept. Post by sldrswyfe on Oct 8th, 2007, 3:22pm It's got to be annoying to have someone call you the wrong name repeatedly and then do it to get a rise like a five yr old...but GEEZ...that was a bit extreme...a little ego issue there?? He only made himself look bad. |

Well seeing as how Mr. Rome was questioning Mr. Everett's gender by calling him Chris, I think he should have made a bigger statement, but that's just me. If you're going to insult me to my face on national television, you'd best be prepared for what I might do. |

Post by seasonalboomer on Oct 8th, 2007, 4:22pm "and Chris, I mean Jim, I'll have you come on the show, and you'll act kind of mad and pissy, and I'll egg you on a little bit, and call you Chris a couple more times, like right to your face. And then you threaten me and it'll be great cause I won't like back down, I'll stare you down and say it again, and then you just have to 'go off', like toss the table or something." I wished he would have chosen to do what Johnny Fairplay did to Danny Bonaduce, and Danny back to him. Chris Evert could have jumped up on him and humped his face. That would'a been beautiful. Title: Re: From the*Some People Never Learn*dept. Post by assaultme on Oct 8th, 2007, 6:16pm He didn't have to keep taunting the man over & over. When he saw this Jim Everett man didn't like the name calling, he should have been a man about it and apologized or at least stopped. It's one thing to tease someone and stop when it is clear they don't appreciate it. It is another to go on & on like a boy on the schoolyard. In my eye, it was very bad manners. |

Title: Re: From the*Some People Never Learn*dept. Post by sldrswyfe on Oct 8th, 2007, 9:06pm yeah...he should've broken his skull into pieces...I guess that woud've been the appropriate, professional thing to do.... There's nothing more irritating and admirable than someone with self-control..it speaks volumes about one's character. Standing up and throwing a table and throwing the interviewer to the ground, is only momentary entertainment for the public...taunting him was plain wrong...but that's what the guy does...and it's "fair game" for "good" tv...I don't agree with it. Maybe laughing it off would've made others sit up and take notice of what a hell of a guy he is, how well he handled himself...and what an utter jacka$$ the interviewer is....he would've made him look like a complete fool. There's something to be said for composure. To me, it equals elegance, graciousness and definately earns respect..like nothing else can. It's easy and common to "beat someone's a&&"...but rare to remain composed. People more than not, "mouth off" and try to get the last word...that really isn't difficult... |

Title: Re: From the*Some People Never Learn*dept. Post by Redd on Oct 8th, 2007, 9:08pm My Opinion: Bonaduce has Chronic diarhiraia of the mouth. He's as rude as they come. But... He has the right to defend himself, he has a right to his opinion no matter how uneducated it may be. The instance in question is a no brainer, he wa accousted and defended himself. As much as I dislike the man, this was self defence and I'm glad the court saw it the same way. |

Title: Re: From the*Some People Never Learn*dept. Post by sldrswyfe on Oct 9th, 2007, 5:55am There's a time to defend ourselves definately...but chosing our battles is a good idea. ALL THAT over some idiot taunting him??? There's much bigger things to be concerned over...if we want to waste our money, time, rasise our blood pressure, annoy and aggravate ourselves everytime someone says something offensive...that's our choice. Many are COMPELLED to do so..."show" everyone "they don't take any sh#t"...maybe if we learned how to let fools be fools, and keep on walking, alot of violence, death, etc could be avoided. The "last word" has caused MANY tragic outcomes.... even what some perceive as insignificant....really isn't. Secure, confident people don't react like that. The words "insecure" and "overcompensation" flash like neon signs. What a different outcome it would've had...if he didn't "bite" and just kept his composure...and his mouth shut. Great. He's a hard a$$...woohoo. And his big reward? Other's like him, slapping him on the back saying "Good job Man"..."You showed him"..."The way you knocked that table over...that's HARD...it really weighs a ton... and when you threw him down...WOW. I'm gonna try THAT the next time some idiot tries to get a rise out of me. Yeah, you're something else." Yeah...the way he reacted really took Einsteinian intelligence. His "case" took up time that someone with much bigger, maybe life-altering problems really needed...but, hell, it was entertaining right? I wonder how, if it was any of us personally, that were caught in a drive by or something, would feel to have his case take presidence over ours....and it would've too...he's "important", much more important than us lowly non-celebrities. Instead of being slapped on the back...he should be slapped on the back of his head. |
