Title: Re: Felt Good At the Time.......... Post by BMoneeTheMoneeMan on Oct 4th, 2007, 2:12pm I think its an old Abbott and Costello thing: If you poke yourself in the eye hard enough, you will forget about that pain in your foot. Or maybe that was the 3 Stooges. Maybe we are all stooges. |

Title: Re: Felt Good At the Time.......... Post by Tiannia on Oct 4th, 2007, 2:20pm I dont bang as much as rock. I am deffinatly a rocker when I get hit. But it all depends where I am there are times when I am sitting in a corner I still bang. Not as much as I used to when these first started. I used to get hit at work and I'd use the hard cardboard roll that was from the Architech paper rolls and hit myself with those. Damn people thought I was crazy. |

Title: Re: Felt Good At the Time.......... Post by Rosybabe on Oct 4th, 2007, 3:46pm I use those hard cold packs and if the pain is too much I hit my head with it...I think it numbs the area a bit :P |

Title: Re: Felt Good At the Time.......... Post by PollyPocket on Oct 4th, 2007, 5:57pm For me I think its the distraction, or maybe I'm trying to create an opening for the pain to escape from. I'm definitely a rocker, but still kinda slap the side of my head when it ramps up. Maybe its like the wild animal who has its leg caught in a trap. Will gnaw thru the leg to get out of the intense pain of the trap. Hmm. Hope you're feeling better today hon! Hugs, Jen |

Title: Re: Felt Good At the Time.......... Post by Redd on Oct 4th, 2007, 7:30pm Great annalogy Jen. Gnawing off the trapped limb. Although it's been some time now that I've had a full on hit, I remember still trying to beat the fucker outta my head be it in the wall, the kitchen cabinets the floor, guess it was whatever was handy. I also remember the bruised scalp feelings and having to be careful taking a comb threw my hair to not hit the lumps I left. My hair is actually growing back from that spot I rubbed like crazy till I had little left but stubble because my hair broke off from the friction. Ok...hang in there my friend. Vent when you need. |

Title: Re: Felt Good At the Time.......... Post by jimmers on Oct 4th, 2007, 7:41pm Sorry for your pain Alicia. Who knows why we do the things we do, I usually interlock my fingers behind my head and squeeze my cheekbone area as hard as I can with my forearms. Doesn't help, but maybe it is the distraction factor. Hopefully he leaves you alone! Jimmers |

Title: Re: Felt Good At the Time.......... Post by George_J on Oct 4th, 2007, 8:08pm I quit whacking my head against things a long time ago. Didn't help. But I sure understand the impulse. At least I don't punch myself in the head any more--back when we were first married, EJ used to consider that fairly alarming. :-/ Best, George |
