Title: Not to start a Firestorm ,,, BUT Post by Ghost on Oct 3rd, 2007, 11:13am http://www.krnv.com/Global/story.asp?S=7162515 I personally would like to meet this Proud Vet and thank him for doing the right thing. I understand the buisness owner claimed to be unaware what he did was illegal, but apperantly he was confronted prior and even with the media there he did nothing to correct it. A Proud SALUTE! Mike Try again it got moved on me |

Title: Re: Not to start a Firestorm ,,, BUT Post by Ghost on Oct 3rd, 2007, 1:22pm Retry the link and go to the video On Monday afternoon we received a call from a KRNV News 4 viewer who said a business near downtown Reno was flying a Mexican flag above an American flag... which is in fact illegal. To read the relevant Federal law, please click here. This, after photos and comments about the flag were posted on Craigslist this morning. When we were able to have a photographer go and check everything out we found the story to be true. It also didn t take long before the situation provoked a strong reaction. If you click on the video link in this story we will show you , unedited, what happened. Click on the video to see what our photographer caught live to tape. |

My hats off to you. The store owner should be charged and prosecuted. Go back to Mexico and fly your flag there. thebbz [smiley=bigguns.gif] God bless America. Title: Re: Not to start a Firestorm ,,, BUT Post by Redd on Oct 3rd, 2007, 1:48pm Athough I agree with Jim over the issue, it could have been handled a different way. Law is the law, I agree, and disrespect for the US Flag shoud not be taken lightly. But let the law be the ones to deal with the situation. |

Title: Re: Not to start a Firestorm ,,, BUT Post by thebbz on Oct 3rd, 2007, 1:58pm The law is not doing anything but covering their politically correct A$$. When the law does not enforce the law, what then Redd? The reason we have most of Mexico in our country illegally is no enforcement agency is enforcing the law. They leave it to the citizens apparently. I am voting for enforcement of existing laws. Do you think this latino gentleman will be charged and prosecuted. I doubt it. They will more than likely charge the patriot for violating the law breakers rights. only in America thebbz |

Not at all, shows how nice we are. In other countries, I'm sure you could be executed or imprisoned for something like that. That store owner is lucky that he's in the U.S. |

Title: Re: Not to start a Firestorm ,,, BUT Post by nani on Oct 3rd, 2007, 4:33pm Too bad the vet doesn't know US flag protocol... You should never let a flag touch the ground or crumple it up. ::) |

Title: Re: Not to start a Firestorm ,,, BUT Post by BMoneeTheMoneeMan on Oct 3rd, 2007, 6:31pm It is against federal law to write on a flag: http://members.aol.com/skymail4/bush/flag_signing.jpg It's also proper flag etiquette to not crumple it up under your arm while you are flipping off some kids: http://www.howtoavoidthebummerlife.com/weblog/archives/BushFlagFinger.jpg And you are not allowed, under any circumstances, to put the flag on the floor and walk on it: http://www.dubyaspeak.com/images/incidents/flagstepping.jpg |

Title: Re: Not to start a Firestorm ,,, BUT Post by Charlie on Oct 3rd, 2007, 8:44pm I can't seem to find the story but I guess someone tore down a Mexican flag because it was flown above a US flag. It ain't supposed to be flown that way but it shouldn't be a national news story. This is the kind of thing that keep us from paying attention to real news. Charlie |
