Title: My favourite 3 tracks of ALL time!!!
Post by Saffy on Oct 3rd, 2007, 3:55am
I thought it would be fun to start a new thread where we could all bore each other to death with our fav 3 tracks of ALL time.

Its probably already been done but I missed it!

Anyway I've changed my mind so many times I am in serious danger of wearing out my computer keyboard. It was SOooo much a harder idea than I first thought but I go back and play these again after years have lapsed and STILL love tham ALL over again!

Finalish List, certainly in no particular order:

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Lenny

Metallica - Unforgiven

Pink floyd - Learning to Fly

Saffy pressing post really quickly  ;)

I know it was posed as "My 3 favourite tunes", but I love so many different types of music and bands. I could never name 3 favourites.
I can name my 3 favourite time signatures:....anything played in 4/4 time, 3/4 time/,  6/8 or 7/8 time. Wait, thats 4...oh well.

Cheers, Dave

I like way too many songs to pick a top 10, let alone a top three.  The ones at the top of the list would change from one day to the next, depending on how I was feeling that day.

But, sticking to the title of the thread -

Currently, the three that come to mind first are:

Lonestar  -  My Front Porch Looking In

Evanescence  -  Tourniquet

Wagner  -  Ride of the Valkyries

Tomorrow - who knows??

I have been thinking about my top 3 songs and it's nearly a mission impossible! Sure, I can name 3 songs, but would they be my all time faves... that's another matter, because I've come from classical to pop, then rock and country and I love all of them now.

Haven't been able to see any vids with dial-up, but still have Fudge's 45rpm of the cover "You Keep Me Hangin' On".   Great version.  ;)

In between Fudge and BBA was Cactus, saw them too, on the same bill as Ten Years After, '71, with Jimmy McCarty and Rusty Day (pictured).  Bought their album, "One Way or Another... the very next day, absolutely fantastic, then the next album too.

Quote:
Cactus was initially conceived in late 1969 as a supergroup of the Vanilla Fudge rhythm section of bassist Tim Bogert and drummer Carmine Appice with guitarist Jeff Beck and singer Rod Stewart. However, Beck had an automobile accident and Stewart joined Ron Wood in the the Faces.

So Appice and Bogert brought in blues guitarist Jim McCarty (guitarist) from Mitch Ryder's Detroit Wheels and The Buddy Miles Express, and singer Rusty Day (born Russell Edward Davidson) from the Amboy Dukes.
...
After Cactus' dissolution in 1972, Bogert and Appice joined with Beck to form Beck, Bogert & Appice.

Just kidding.

Is it pronounced "Ap I cee" or "a piece" ?
Heard it both ways.

Not my three favorite of all time (there is no such thing, silly), just three of my absolute faves:

* It Takes a Woman's Love (To Make a Man) - Kansas

* Old Habits Are Hard to Break - John Hiatt

* Kentucky Woman - Deep Purple

Dave,

I've heard Appice pronounced both ways but believe it is pronounced "a piece".

He has a great website with loads of cool links.  Check out the biography section if ya have a minute....lots of interesting reading.

LMMFAO, Jonny!!

I don't think I can pick three favorites, but I gotta say my number one fav, no matter how many times I've heard it is:  Pull Me Under - Dream Theater.

Way too many others I love to narrow it down any further.

Adam

Thought of another one I can't seem to hear enough:
Fucking Hostile - Pantera
