The competition was between 9 women for best makeover. They had every possible beauty treatment available to them overa period of 12 hours before the contest. Look at the before and after photos. It really is Shocking! Conclusion - there are no ugly women * If you had the money....Good Grief!!! My daughters school actually uses the videos and information in their health curriculuum in an effort to help break the societal idea that every girl has to be a size zero to be accepted. I applaud any corporation that is willing to attack the societal pressures put on women, especially young girls and teens, that they have to be super skinny and supermodel type bodies to be considered beautiful. One size does NOT fit all. Cat |

Title: Re: Have your daughters watch this video Post by catlind on Sep 29th, 2007, 4:54am Can't say if that particular photo is accurate or true, but I've followed the campaign since it started and they are truly working toward educating the very impressionable demographic of teens and young women in the societal unacceptance that all of us should look the same. The ads and videos on the site are all above board - last time I checked anyway - and as I said earlier, are even being used in the health and guidance classes in the middle and high schools here in the millard district. It's had a profound effect on the young women. Cat |

It would also help to raise a kid in a stable (as possible) home paying regular attention to them as a new life under their responsiblity, rather than an extension of their own broken ego. I hear parents blame other stuff and then i watch how they behave at the kids competive events, my inner world screams bull$hit. edited to add: This campaign is important for promoting the truth about who they are, especially for the ones who don't have a decent home life. |
