See, I told you Oregon was a tolerant state:) I got a fabulous hug from the lovely Linda. It was wonderful to meet her and her other half. Now I owe Brian a strawberry Rhubarb pie and Cathi a lemon meringue. Psychedelic frog anyone?????? |

Title: Re: The Howells invade Sunnyside Oregon Post by Linda_Howell on Sep 19th, 2007, 12:10pm It was soooooo great finally getting to meet the Monee-man after, what? 2 years now. [smiley=laugh.gif] He's not at all what I expected him to be, in person. Much nicer. Kayarr is very very funny and a wonderful spunky little lady who apparently is a master pie maker, and of course I've already known Cathi for....forever. They were so nice to to pick a restaurant to meet for dinner right around the corner from our motel, since I had no idea of how to get around their town. We were only together for a few hours, but again...like others have said here before, I felt like I've known them my whole life. Instant bond of friendship. Linda |

Title: Re: The Howells invade Sunnyside Oregon Post by Kirk on Sep 21st, 2007, 1:51pm Back in the day.... About three quarters of the way down the promenade towards the ocean, there was a place with bumper cars. And Cotton Candy, and a machine that would squash yer pennies. It was on the Starboard side as you faced the ocean. About 100 meters from the turn around. Mc Menamin's didn't exist back then. It was kind of fun. Smashing into each other to the sounds of the waves smashing onto the shore. Please be well [smiley=smokin.gif] |

Title: Re: The Howells invade Sunnyside Oregon Post by kayarr on Sep 21st, 2007, 7:06pm That would be perfect , the sound of the sea and bumper cars. The ocean is the only place that automatically relaxes me. (being the uptight broad that I am...) Kirk, A big be well to you too my friend! |
