BTW, Indiana is full of illegals. I guarantee that if I had the power, I could round up thousands of them in a very short time.

Sorry Jonny, it's the same reason OJ walked free. They have won the media over. Once the media is on your side, you're completely untouchable. They are within reach of annexing California without firing a shot. I arrest them, turn them over to Border Patrol, they laugh in my face and say "see ya next week".....and they do!!!

For me Jonny, it is a matter of political correctness. Every time someone points out that you are welcome in America BUT you MUST come here LEGALLY...what do they get?

Dave, we've had this discussion many times already, I just don't know if you were around at the time.

This is not a racist issue. Immigrants came into this country and went through legal proceedures and had to learn what was required before they became citizens. They did not sneak over any borders.

To come to this country (or any other) and make demands for welfare, medical coverage, etc. without paying taxes is just WRONG.

I NEED medical coverage. I'm 70 years old and have worked and paid taxes since I was 16 years old.

I feel sorry, and pray for the people who have to live under the sad conditions that they do.... but Illigals have no right to be here...period. If people want to come here, let them do it the right way. Then and only then will they be welcome.

Do you know of one good reason why it should be any other way?

Edited to ask: If you are an American citizen, then of course your wife and children are! That's the way it works. Are you employed and paying taxes? That's the way it should work. What are you trying to say?

Goes back to the PEOPLE of this country taking BACK this country and TELLING the ELECTED officials what WE want and SEEING that it's done.

We saw what can happen when the country gets it's panties in a wad -- but we let it slide and didn't keep up the uproar and now it's back to business as usual. This is not something that can be a one-time letter/phone campaign and then go back to watching your sitcoms and forget it. Ya gotta keep after them guys in DC or they're gonna slip somethin' past us.

If ya really care ya gotta do the yellin' where it'll do some good -- congressmen and senators have the "power" WE give them. We GIVE and WE can take away (at the voting polls). But we gotta get off our apathetic butts to do it.

I think Barbara & Charlie were getting what I was trying to say. Yes, I am glad some people like Jonny stand up and don't let it deter them. And is up to us to put pressure on politicians.

Unfortunately I have seen a few decent politicians try to address this issue and they get shouted down every time by groups screaming racism. They end up giving up in disgust or fear of losing votes.

Know what? You better believe it !!! I know, I've seen it first hand. When I lived in Texas, some of the best stone masons I have ever met were illegals. Know what they made an hour? 4 bucks !!! I knew people personally that hired them and were happy about it. Why would they pay me $20 an hour when they can get same for less??? They have laws pertaining to this, but get real !!! They obviously don't work :(

I dont know what the answer is to that, but I think Charlie has a good point regardless.

I do know one thing...BarbaraD is right in what she said and likely gives the best solution for me. I too an guilty of not doing enough. I try to write them when I can, guess I better get busy eh? :)

A young 15 year old girl from Texas was found raped and murdered in Portland, Oregon. Portland area police have arrested and charged Alejandro Emeterio “Alex” Rivera Gamboa and his cousin Gilberto Javier “Gabe” Arellano Gamboa for this despicable crime.

Now if that’s not sick enough, here’s the kicker… You guessed it! Both Rivera Gamboa and Arellano Gamboa, confessed that they entered our country illegally from Mexico. Here’s some more salt to pour on the wound…, before this terrible crime, Rivera Gamboa had been arrested four different times for drunk driving. FOUR TIMES!!! Seems that way, doesn't it? It's not true though. We're a pretty decent bunch. That we know about things like this points it up. In the past it was rare that we would even hear of these kinds of crimes....especially sex crimes.
