Washed up on a beach alone,
The fear is ours to hold.
Falling from the mountain top,
Knowing that we must stop.

The fear of which we speak,
Over time might make us weak.
Freedom from it all,
The stop after the fall.

Now deep within the earth,
Like in a mothers womb.
Another cavern born,
But just another room.

Where is safe for you,
What is home for me.
Just a place to shelter,
The fears we hold inside.

Keep to the path most traveled,
For it is safe and worn.
To witness from beyond it,
Is to be looked upon with scorn.

Why is this we say,
On the safest path we stay.
When each of us must choose,
The path that brings us through.
