Today is my son, Buddy's, Birthday (39 - ok so I'm NOT a 29 year old blonde cover model - sue me ;;D ) and he decided he wants to be a dog breeder. He wants to breed minature pinchers and chichauchaus.

Well, being the lovely mother I am, I try to please, so... I found him a STUD for his kennel (to be) - a beautiful black and tan mini-pin (all three pounds of him). Good disposition (13 weeks old - pedigree back to the Mayflower and yes, I paid WAAAY too much for him).

We've got to come up with two names to put on the papers to send in -- Now we need something that is fitting (vicious sounding as befitting a mini-pin). So far the choices are Brutus Almighty, Red Hill Terminator, Devil's Demon, and Herclules (couldn't come up with a middle name for that one). He's not real crazy about any of them.

Any suggestions? We really need to get his papers sent in. He's already humping Homer's leg (think he has that part down).

HELP!!!

What about KAISER BARBARUS ? Kaiser means The boss and Barbarus (for you Barb ;;D) it fits the puppy ;)

Donna's suggestion is a good one Barb It's the norm here to carry on "family" names in dog breeding but then to add something to personalise it to you. It has nothing to do with what you end up actually calling the little bugger on a daily basis [smiley=laugh.gif]

No imagination with anscestors -- wimpy!
This little mutt needs to STAND out in the crowd (we'll probably end up calling him Bubba or something like that, but he needs a "distinquished" name that people will "fear" ;;D when he walks into the room!).

My little mini-pin was the kennel stud (before THE operation - right before I got him) and he was Rudy Tootie (give me a break!). Had to get him a "spiked" colar to give him his digity back. ;) He was very grateful. He's almost 12 and blind now and still thinks he's 8 feet tall and bullet proof.

Rosy - I'll throw Kaiser B into the pot. We're having a meeting on it this weekend. Buddy and I are already designing kennels and dog runs and all that (like the mutts won't end up in the damn house!).

We've got a lot of research to do about breeding and all that. I've got some friends and clients who are breeders so I think we've got some visiting to do also. One does Blue Ticks and the other Pitts (and she checks out her potential owners thoroughly before she'll sell a dog - one was written up in the paper for saving a little boy's life, so her Pitts are above reproach). But this might just be Buddy's "thing".

Goliath Golightly?! Fang the Ferocious, Pin the Perilous, Midnight Marauder, Beast hunter - hmm.. I quite like that one!

I'm speaking to Jasper, Brid and Barney later I'll ask them for some suggestions but I'll bet good money something to do with Harry Potter turns up from Jasper LOL

format for german breeds is typically

_________ (the name you want) von ______________(the father's name)

Which basically means "Jimmy son of Bob". It will help the breeding papers and the sale of his progeny if the line is inteact in the paperwork this way.
