Title: WTF say you?
Post by Jonny on Sep 7th, 2007, 8:08pm
If you were the judge.....death of nine years in jail?

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=594_1189199636

This next one is major jail time!!!....but no, shes off the hook!!

Quote:
Although police questioned Nesselroad-Slaby, Clermont County prosecutor Don White decided not to seek an indictment, because Ohio law stipulates that "reckless conduct" must be present. Mr. White said that although leaving the child was "a substantial lapse of due care," it did not meet the definition of "reckless conduct."

What say me Jonny???

That is so sickening it is beyond words. Nothing much offends or shocks me, but the child abuse thing boils my blood !!!

String em' up. Got in a fight once because a girl I was dating's sister was abusing her kids in front of me. 5 different Daddys, 5 different kids...you know the type.

It stopped her for that day. But as soon as I left, it likely continued.

 Such an awful thing.

Dave

This sickens me!
Anyone who hurts a child deserves death... period. They should go to the front of the line.

here's what's going on where I used to live, just up the road in Spotsylvania County and its why we moved to here. Spotsy was getting worse and worse each day.   WTF is wrong with people??????

Lapses of...what...responcibility(?) happen from time to time...

I don't excuse this by any means, and the guilt and horror will plague this Mother the rest of her life.  But there are worse things to happen in this world, and that is the willfull exploitation of children.

Although this was a tragic incident, there was no pre-meditation nor willful endangerment.  Tragic, yes, but an accident.

This was breaking news today in my small suburban college town.  Second arrest in 2 months of prominent business owners.

Business owner arrested for making child pornography

A Stevens Point business owner was arrested earlier this week for possession and distribution of child pornography, after an investigation that began in California traced a picture of a partially nude 9-year-old girl to Stevens Point.

Mark Braun, owner of Midwest Technology Associates, LLC, made a bond appearance from the Portage County Jail today after being arrested Wednesday.

According to Portage County DA Tom Eagon, a label shown in the photograph enabled federal investigators to link the image to Stevens Point, where the child’s parent confirmed her identity. The girl pictured in the photograph confirmed Braun had taken the photograph of her in his office, said Eagon.

Although Braun’s attorney argued Braun had no criminal record, Eagon said a search warrant had been executed on Braun’s home about two and a half years ago, when a woman claimed she had received a “disturbing email...indicating (Braun) wanted to have contact with this woman and her young children.”

Braun’s wife appeared in court for Braun’s hearing, crying as Eagon requested Braun be retained on a $10,000 cash bond. Braun appeared in court by video.

Portage County Judge John Finn issued Braun a $5,000 cash bond, arguing the severity of the charges increased the likelihood Braun would flee.

“According to the allegations made by the state this is the person who created the photograph, so this is quite a bit more serious than merely possessing,” said Finn.

According to Eagon, at present there is record of only a single photograph manufactured by Braun, although Eagon is expecting a fuller report from the Department of Criminal Investigations.

“I guess we’re anticipating a more complete investigation, I can’t say whether there will be more pictures.”

In Australia, leaving a child in the car unattended is a criminal offence and the police will charge.

About 2 years ago, I helped smashed a window down to get to a 10 month old baby who was left in a car parked in scorching hot temperature outside the medical centre where I worked. Thank God the child was OK but the body temperature was more than 40 degree, and was at risk of developing seizures. The police was called and the father was charged.

His excuse ? " I was only going to the shops for a little bit ! "  >:(

There may be more to the story of the child left in the car. If a case of stupidity, time in the slammer will be of no value.

I'm tired of "it's procedure" as an answer to everything. Two examples: Some kid broke a sink in a gas station bathroom a couple of years ago and he his father had to go through getting "charged" and more "procedure." I miss the old days. When that kind of thing happened when I was young, the father paid for the sink and that was it. It was an accident for God's sake.

Another one is the guy that was driving David Halberstam (famous writer and journalist) around California piled up the car and killed him. The driver was not drunk but was hauled in several days later and "charged" for something. Why? What possible good did that do? He must feel bad enough already. People are afraid to deviate from "procedure" today. It's a shame. Fear has a lot to do with it and the ridiculous idea that you can legislate perfection. It ain't gonna work.

Do we really need anymore proof how effed up the law system is?

What about manslaughter ??

Or Child abuse??

Child endangerment?

Charge the bonehead with SOMETHING!!!

I saw on the news, that a man was arrested and will probably do jail time for killing his dog, in an abusive situation.  So a dog is worth more than a CHILD??

Again, WTF??

Chuck
