But we sure ate a lot of potatoes. My parents would make potato pancakes or pierogi for dinner. That WAS dinner. Mom would "stretch" the sour cream by adding milk to it to top the pancakes. To this day, they are both my favorite side dishes. (but my mom's homemade mac & cheese...BLLECCHHH!) |

It's about the only "pasta" thing I'll eat but somehow it doesn't seem like pasta to me. I wouldn't eat that shop stuff, its ghastly! YUK! I like cooking and my kids like eating so that's good. The only thing I hate - and I really HATE - is Pasta. I cannot stand the stuff and it reminds me of the worst times in my life. My first ex kept me so short of money that pasta of some form or another was all I could feed the kids. To this day Spaghetti Bolognese is torture for me. We didn't have hard times growing up financially but my mother was a diabolical cook so we HATED it when she cooked ANYTHING LOL |
