Title: Zoloft ???
Post by ski2k on Sep 6th, 2007, 2:55pm
I'm detixing so I can try using RC seeds, and I'm having one helluva time getting off the Zoloft I was on.
Anyboby else have experience with Zoloft? I haven't taken any since saturday, and still feel like shit!! I wasn't taking it for depression, it was for social anxiety. Was taking 200 mg a day, tapered down for a week, then stopped saturday.
Anybody else have this happen? I heard it was hard to stop.... but I thought maybe 3-4 days at most, and I'd start to feel better. But damn!! 5 days and feeling worse?!?!

Thanx for your input!
Adam

Oh... and before you ask... It's not the other meds I was on making me feel like this. I quite those with no problems while I was tapering down from the Zoloft.

I was on Zoloft for 6 years at 100mg a day.  I tapered for 2 weeks myself and to be honest with you, it gets bad before it gets better.  Withdrawl off any drug is never fun and antidepressants suck.  If you can just hang in there, or maybe taper for longer, you'll get through it.

Good luck.

I have just tapered down and off Zoloft. I was on it for a lonnnnnnnnnnnnng time.  My neuro was using it with me for a Migraine preventative.  I was on a low dose.
After an accident my doctor suggest that I go off it and now I am on Welbutrin ... I am pretty sure the Zoloft is out of my system... I want to kill everyone... lol.. not really its just that reality is slapping me in the ass.

You will feel kind of airy headed for a while... At times it sort of feels like you are getting electrical shocks in your head... weird... Good luck... you should be ok in about 2 or 3 weeks...
love ree

I took 200mg of Zoloft a day for a few years as a preventative...as far as CH's and any changes in anxiety...it did nothing.

If I ran out, I did NOT feel good.  I was dizzy, nauseous and out of sorts...

Then, I lost my medical benefits and went off of it abruptly....whoah.  I felt that feeling like after you get off of an elevator and still feel the "landing"...that's the only way I can explain it.  Dizzy, nauseous and "landing" over and over for about two weeks.

As far as my emotional state, I was ok...but I would never suggest going off that abruptly to anyone.  Hang in there...it will pass.   Thoughtfully, Sherri

**I have no idea what the appropriate way to titer off is...did your dr tell you it would only take a week?  That seems fast.  Maybe you should slow it down a bit if you're feeling this bad.  Best of luck  :)

Two to three weeks!!  :o
Man I hope I make it!!!
I really hate these feelings I've been getting! Feel like I'm just gonna fall over at any second.

Adam

I told my doc I was quitting it. Didn't really say anything about how long, though. I figured it would be a few days of feeling like crap, but wasn't sure. Now I'm having second thoughts..... No... I can't go back!! Gotta try the seeds!! Feeling lethagic and dizzy is still much better than getting ch.. I think..... Just gotta try taking it easy, I guess.

I was told that people with psychological/psychiatric conditions should not use shrooms or seeds or any other psychedelic substances for CH.

You have a diagnosis of social anxiety which is a psych condition. You also are having a hard time weaning off Zoloft which means your body/brain still needs the drug.

Please be very careful with the dosages of alternative meds, you might cause yourself more problems.
