Title: Need research help!!
Post by ski2k on Sep 5th, 2007, 10:58am
One of my very best friends, who is also a roomate, works for a nutritional suppliment distributor. He has seen me go through a few CH cycles, and wants to help out. He deals with herbal , vitamin, and mineral suppliments, etc.... and would like some input.
I guess he's getting sick of me asking "hey! Can you get this? How 'bout that?", and has decided to try to put together something based on our experiences and knowledge.
We're looking at three basic categories in the  "program" we wanna try out: Abortives, Preventatives, and Night Time.  So I'm asking for input from everyone as to what natural suppliments have worked for you. I/him/we could read for weeks without finding the suppliments that actually work. There's just sooo much out there!
Please help us! If we're lucky, we can stumble across something that will work for a large number of us!
I personally don't know a whole lot about what has worked and what hasn't for most of you, so I would like to compile somewhat of a list, and see where we can go from there.
Here's what few I know about:

Abortives: Caffine, Taurine, and certain B vitamins..

Preventatives: Kudza, and Magnesium (read about, but does it actually help?)

Night Time: Melatonin (that's all I've heard of for night hits)

PLEASE help out! I know there's got to be a lot more that you have been tried, and I want to find out what works the best for us all!!

Thanx in advance! PFDAN to all!
Adam

Its Kudzu Chris and its helped a lot of people if you read through the threads on it.

I'm convinced magnesium is helping me, I am taking it for a different condition but when I stopped it the hits came on with a vengeance and stopped again within a couple of days of resuming. I've just gone through a few days without it again becuase I forgot to fill my prescription and I have learned the hard way to make damn sure I never do that again  :-/

Melatonin - I've never tried it as it allegedly conflicts with other stuff I'm taking but my son has had superb results from it. That and O2 is all he can use because of his age. One thing I must stress though is that nothing should be tried without doctors supervision/knowledge. If taking other meds there can be some ugly consequences otherwise and I'd doubly stress that for any parents reading this.

Hope this helps
Helen

Thanx for the reminder!!!

My friend is VERY good at what he does, and I'm confident whatever we come up with, he will recognize and avoid any combinations that wouldn't work well together.

I need research help too. I'd like to find out what I can sell everyone here (and everywhere else) and make lots of money while maybe helping out someone. Your idea is 'for profit' right ? How much are you planning to make and what will you do with the profits ?  Curious minds want to know !!

So, everything your selling is FDA approved or is it not ?
Will you list/post the potential problems and side effects of the herbal rememdies before people buy into them ? What about drug interactions ? / Safety precautions ?

This is my first round of questions. I'll gicve you a chance to catch up !

Is your friend a pharmacists or medical doctor ?

LOL!! No unsolved...
This is NOT for profit!! Just trying to get a few ideas and pass them around. More or less trying to see what everybody has tried and hasn't to see what works, and maybe combine a few to see if they help me. I've dealt with these headaches for 18 years, and only had the right diagnosis for about... 6 I think?
Anyway... It's a chance for me to play "catch-up" on what's been tried, and pass along info to you and everybody else on the board when and if I find any combos that seem to work well together.
Not everybody is out to get you!! [smiley=laugh.gif]
And no, my friend is NOT a doctor or pharmacist, last I knew you didn't need to be either in order to be knowledgeable in "herbal remedies" . I don't believe I've seen you, Unsolved, post on every thread involving the use of Kudzu or Melatonin, warning everyone of the dangers of natural attempts to ward off the beast.
It's just information I'd like to gather and share. That's SHARE, my brother!! NOT sell...

Anyway.... I'd still like to know, if for nothing else than my own benefit. If you don't want to share with me, fine. If you do, then thank you! I'd be happy to share with you too.

Thanks for the input, and sorry if you misunderstood my intentions.

Adam

P.S. If you're not interested in my personal attempts to defeat the beast, please don't bother reading the thread I started on the "medications, treatments, therapies" board entitled "RCseeds: here we go". Thanx again!
