Ummm, define ROCK. I thought quite a bit of what's listed was rock, at least  in my day, it was. Today, there are so many different kinds of music, I really don't know what to call anything anymore  [smiley=huh.gif]

You know there's a generation gap when the music younger people listen to doesn't sound like music to you. And I have pretty eclectic taste in music.

Fagan & Becker of Steely Dan are awesome. Their albums read like a whos who of great drummers, Steve Gadd, Jeff Porcaro, Hal Blaine, Bernard  Purdie.
Porcaro of Toto Great drummer, died in a lawn chemical accident.

 Bill Bruford left Yes in the early 70's to join King Crimson. Replaced by another legendary player Alan White, also from The UK.

 My Bro saw Ginger Baker of Cream in the very early 70's. Said he was so lit up, they had to kinda prop him up to play.

"Ricky Skaggs and Bruce Hornsby" for some bluegrass (that's right, bluegrass piano and they do a version of SuperFreak).

"Camp Meeting" with Bruce Hornsby,  Christian McBride and Jack Dejohnette - serious three piece jazz.

and "Three Nights on the Town,"  DVD of Hornsby and the Noisemakers live in New York.

If youever get a chance to see them in concert, they are well worth the money.  We saw them in Baton Rouge in April of this year and are going back to see them next Feb,  in Shreveport.  The tickets are a bit pricey (we paid $85.00 a piece for Baton Rouge and they are a $100.00 each for the Shreveport concert AND those aren't the best ones!), but they are well worth the money.

Tomorrow night, Sarah and I are going to see a Paddy Keenan, the *Jimi Hendrix* of the uilleann pipes.

The first weekend in October, we always attend our local Celtic festival which has grown at a rapid rate (lots of Irish and Scottish musicians).

My daughter would love that (if she doesn't already have it on the computer).  For those of you who have been kind enough to leave me links to songs and  files, thanks, but I would like to be able to listen to it before I go to the nursing home (dial-up sucks).

Speaking of international music, thanks to my daughter, I've listened to songs in who knows how many languages.  She has a friend who is working on his MA in linguistics (going for a PhD next) and they swap music all the time.

Speaking of zydeco!  Zachary Richard has some beautiful music, in English and in Cajun.

Today was the day for Tommy James and the Shondells, tomorrow it might be Country Joe and the Fish, " gimme a *f*, gimme a *u*, gimme a *c*, gimme a *k*....what does that spell?".  Maybe a little Iron Buttefly or Savoy Brown?

 Just discovered this young man a week ago. This kid is absolutely amazing !!! Started at age 3, now about 18 or so, he's one of the best I've seen. Has a rock solid style. No useless flashy stuff. He is so fast, I can't even tell where the notes are coming from. Here he is playing in The Netherlands.

What am I listening to???? Well at work its the ABC's, Head shoulders knees and toes, and the HOkey POkey... AT HOME its the sh*t my daughter listens to which really s*cks and has bad words in it, like HOES, and penis talk~~~ and such (I hate rap)...
I like everything, but God will be greetin the guy at the gate that writes that smutt... Where'd you get yo body from etc etc ....

I like nice music with words I can understand... Even ACDC and Judas Priest kept it clean...
