Title: Tech help please. Post by Redd on Aug 28th, 2007, 8:27pm I have a host of music on my computer, but it's in windows media format. Is there anyway to import from Windows media player into real player or even within windows media player to convert them to MP3 files? Kids want to download the songs onto their MP3 players. I just don't know how. is there a tutorial out there somewhere maybe so we can do this? Thanks a bunch. |

Title: Re: Tech help please. Post by Brewcrew on Aug 29th, 2007, 7:24am Wow - imagine that. Meg and Dyl want to listen to some of the same music mom does. Doesn't that just warm your cockles? (I knew I was having an impact when I caught Roy listening to The Temptations' My Girl and Ain't Too Proud to Beg over and over, learning the bass parts). This is pretty cool, Pegg. |

Title: Re: Tech help please. Post by Redd on Aug 29th, 2007, 9:09am Oh yes Brew, There are quite a few artists and genra's of music that both the kids and I enjoy. However, we have also downloaded some of their music that I could stand to live without on the home machine as well. I'm not a big fan of Slip Knot, but it's on there. :-/ |

Title: Re: Tech help please. Post by Opus on Aug 30th, 2007, 6:42pm The best way to get most things is Bittorrent. http://www.mininova.org/ http://thepiratebay.org/ You do have to download a client if you OS doesn't have one built in, but it is nothing like most filesharing. You only up load the file you download , and usually never the whole thing to one person, just bits a pieces to many different people. I get recent fan subs of Naruto this way and downloaded the sound tracks. If you use Microsoft Windows I have heard that Utorrent (http://www.utorrent.com/) is very good, but I have never used it. So far the RIAA has lost anytime someone defends themselves, but just to be sure, check any album you want to download on RIAA Radar (http://www.riaaradar.com/), best to steer clear of any music made under RIAA anyway, except of course for Weird Al that is. It is quite possible that the anime sound tracks are not available to buy in the USA. The 3rd Naruto movie took a year to come out in DVD in Japan, and it is still not avalable here, so what other option is there but to download it. The same goes for some of the sound tracks. I guess they don't think Americans want to listen to music sung in Japanese. Paul |

there are online stores with download options but you do not know if they actually have the right to sell that cd or if they are just copying it 100 times and they can ship things world wide but the wait and emissions from the planes and shipping vehicals +packaging is it really worth it... you can go to itunes but then theres a credit card involved and I'm not interested in APPLE software on a pc or even the stupid ipods really get a pda or umpc or smartphone its a better value and then there are some cd's you can not find anywhere but online.... if he did buy a cd whats he going to do anyway copy it to the computer or mp3 player than you have a cd thats useless sitting around.... |
