For all the dog lovers in here...

Here's a pic Timo took last week at his aunt's island. Timo's uncle raises puppies. They have 7 puppies in there this year.

This was the only time they were still. ;;D

I told Timo that he must. His brother-in-law is a great photographer, so Timo is bit modest with his pictures. He did enter another picture to "the most beautiful car"- contest. If he wins it, the reward is a travel certificate worth 1000 euros! ;;D

I was thinking of the same thing Jonny was...that picture looks like something you would purchase...it's seriously a great picture. I hope Timo really does pursue it. He definately has talent. Good luck. :)

Timo's uncle has been raising these kind of puppies for 30 years. :)

I've been trying to look up the breed's English name, but I'm not quite sure if it has one. I'd translate it as Finland's Chase Dog or something like that.

Timo has more pics of the puppies; but they're not downloaded to a online picture website yet. If someone likes to see them, I can do that later on. :)

Found it! The breed is called Finnish Hound. :)

Jasper has just asked if you and "Nemo" can bring him one of those puppies please and he wants to call it "Rosie" or "Jonathan" [smiley=laugh.gif] Can you imagine calling "jonathan" for a dog?! Sheesh!!

It might be a bit long trip for a little puppy. They are cute, though. Has Jasper picked his fave yet? ;)

Now why do I think of Jonathan Ross and Rosie O'Donnell...? ;;D
Then again, our guinea pigs are named after a nursery rhyme/street and Ernest Hemingway... ;)

Took a look at the dog information site you posted. Interesting dogs - they look like Beagles on steroids with those loooooooooong legs. The Finnish Spitz is recognized by the American Kennel Club, but the Finnish Hound is not. I'd love to see them in the ring - they are probably fascinating to watch.

I'll bet they are a hoot when they are pups.

My speedbump Corgi might want to play with them . . . he thinks he's a big dog.

I love hounds in general - Beagles being my favourite though. I took the kids to visit Crufts (huge dog sohw here) last year as one of their Christmas presents and they loved it (so did I!) Its a definite plan to go again and on "hound" day too :)

I always wanted to call a dog "Bollocks". My ex quite liked the idea too when I said he could stand in the pits at Hovercraft race meetings shouting "Bllocks" and no one could accuse him of being rude.. he liked the idea of having a sign on the gate as well saying Trespassers will be caught by the Bollocks.

The plan fell down when I couldn't shut up though - when I got to the bit about the 8 foot neanderthal who lives next door asking his kids "What have you done today?" (In a series of grunts and farts but I can't type that) - and the kids replying "Oh we were playin with David's Bollocks" he went green and refused to consider the idea any more.

Can't think why... ::)

Brid wanted to call a kitten "twinkletoes fairy sparkley bum" but it ended up as (Cat) Astrophe :)

I don't think I'll be allowed any more pets when this thread gets seen somehow ::)

They sound like excellent pets to have with their temperment, yet at the same time, energetic hunters.
