Title: Well, my son John got married today... Post by 1stdonna on Aug 25th, 2007, 9:30pm he's now 36 and his son Brandon is now 11yo. He raised his son alone since Brandon was 2yo, when mommy decided that life wasn't fun any more and took a hike. They lived with me for four years before Johnny met Cher, and they all moved to Michigan two years ago, where the rest of Chers family lives. As luck would have it, my Coumiden level was out of control again and my doc wouldn't allow me to travel It was at 11.3.......should be between 2 to 3. I got a call from the new Mrs. H. ten minutes after the vows and I also talked to Johnny. The sun came out for them today (you know how it's been raining up there). The wedding was beautiful. They had 71 guests, and the reception was in her fathers yard......it was a garden wedding with the big canopy and all the trimmings. Her 6 year old son was the ring bearer and Brandon was an usher. The boys felt so important. The only thing missing was me. I'm not a cryer, but today was an exception. How I miss them!! But thank God they are a family, they are happy and they are doing well. John got his CDL a year ago and is with a company that pays well. He's gone from Sunday til Thursday but is looking for something local so that he can be home every night. I just felt like I needed to share this with friends. LYG |

Title: Re: Well, my son John got married today... Post by Grandma_Sweet_Boy on Aug 25th, 2007, 9:49pm Aw Donna - I know from an email a while back how you were looking forward to this wedding. I'm so sorry you weren't able to go. That was very sweet of the new bride to call her MIL before she went on with her reception. That sort of bodes well for the future relationship you will have with her. So - if your 36 year old son just got married - does that mean there's some hope for my 42 year old son that remains single? Everytime I think he's in a serious relationship - it seems to not work out so perhaps he's meant to be merrily single. Congrats to the new Mother of the Groom! Hugs Carol |

Title: Re: Well, my son John got married today... Post by 1stdonna on Aug 25th, 2007, 9:56pm Thanks Carol :) Coincidense....I have a 42 year old son who has never married. He's had two rather serious relationships that ended sadly and now he's not even looking. Where do middle aged people find someone? (or for that matter...how about older women......where do we find someone? LOL) |

Title: Re: Well, my son John got married today... Post by Charlie on Aug 25th, 2007, 10:11pm Happy for you Donna. Congratulions. I've been on Coumiden for more than a year. Don't ask me the stats, not up on them but I get calls from my infant 30 year old doctor, the time. He gets all excited now and then. I do know that I'm on 6mg of the crap....lately. Charlie |

Title: Re: Well, my son John got married today... Post by 1stdonna on Aug 25th, 2007, 10:21pm 6 mg is high, Charlie. You must be eating a lot of spinich or other greens, including salads. When I'm on 2mg, it goes up. When I'm on 1-1/2, it goes too low. I recently heard from a Pharmacist that the brand name of Coumidin is more stable than the generic Warfirin, which I am on. So we are going to make a change and see what happens. Edited for speed typing=incorrect spelling. LOL |
