Title: Central WI New Energy Drink
Post by Redd on Aug 23rd, 2007, 3:21pm
You got it folks, the local brewery has introduced a new energy called "Wildlife".

Catering to the Northwoods outdoor enthusiest, the hunter and the fisherman, energy drinks are NO longer just for extreem sportsters.

This 16 oz. beverage claims to serve 2, and each serving contains 1000 mg taurine, 80 mg caffine,200 mg ginsing, 15 mg L-carnitine, 160 mg of Guarana extract, 50 mg Inositol, and 600 mg Glucuronolactone.  In addition Vitimins B6, B12, C Riboflavin and niacin.

Hmmmmm  disclaimer on the can states:

This product is not intended to diagnose, treat cure or prevent any disease.

(I wonder if they have read this site about the wonders of Red Bull?)

I wonder how you are supposed to sit still and quietly in a duck blind after downing a 16 oz can of that. Maybe that's what Cheney was drinking....

I don't think it will be available outside the Brewery's distibution area, which is pretty much just WI.  I'm drinking one now, and the flavor is a cross between Red Bull and Monster, just as they claimed, but it's milder.  You know...not as "in your face' nasty like red bull.

I can only drink a half can though, as it is quite sweet.

Glad that you have a new brand to choose from. :)

That reminds me: I need to start bugging Finland's two huge grocery chains about energy drinks. They say they're looking for new products for their own brands all the time and they have cider, juice and soft drinks already, so in my eyes energy drink is logical next step. ;;D

Thanks for the info, Redd. I took the liberty of adding it to my energy drink database.

I've found the taurine energy drinks work for me, and most importantly, they don't seem to interfere with the clusterbuster treatment. It's too early to say, but if this is so, taurine drinks could be useful for detoxing and for those post-dose hits and breakthroughs.

So being bored and wanting to practice with my new datasbase software, I worked up a database of taurine energy drinks. That part was easy. Getting it up on the web so others can see it was a freaking nightmare, especially since I didn't want to spend much money on the project.

But I got it up there. It's clunky and not what I wanted it to look like, but here it is:
http://tommydfungus.googlepages.com/taurinepage1

Hope it's useful. I have a more complete database, with more info on the drinks listed, but for now that is only available as a FileMaker or Excel file. Send me a PM if you're interested and I'll e-mail a copy.

And my apologies to our friends in Europe and elsewhere. I couldn't find much info on brands sold outside the US and Canada. Send me the info or post it here, and I'll try to add it in...if I can get Google Page Creator to cooperate.

It's good to be able to see them compared to each other.
Nice job TD, thanks for sharing. [smiley=thumb.gif]

tommyd,

It might be a good bit of information to let it be known where each drink is either available or it's distribution areas.  To my knowlege, Wildlife is only available in WI.  At least at this time.

Redd -

That would be nice, but as far as I can tell, pretty much impossible. Most of theses companies' web sites don't say, of if they do, use one of those search by zip code deals.

I had considered including links to the drink company web sites, but didn't want to get too much into advertising, and I didn't want to inflict on anyone the hyped-up flash animations most of these sites use.

There are distributors that sell soft drinks on-line, but the shipping costs are a killer. I will try to find some of these and post them on the site - but I don't want to post only one or two, as I don't want to seem to endorse any. You know, the standard disclaimer: "inclusion of any brand or company does not represents an endorsement yadda yadda..."

Judging from that table, I'm guessing everyone is using Red Bull only because it is the most easily accessible.

Somebody should write this company and tell them to change the name to Cluster Ass Kicker.
Wired X-505 size-23.5 oz. Taurine-4400 caffeine-505 Much extra caffeine and extra taurine.

Wired X505 has 505 milligrams of caffeine, meaning you would have to drink about 6.5 Red Bull's to equal one of can of Wired X505.

Going to have to put an order in!

Chris
