Title: Re: Mexico Post by marlinsfan on Aug 15th, 2007, 8:02am Hope you stay dry. Tropical Depression #5 just formed in the Gulf, and is expected to be Tropical Storm E(something) when it hits mexico/texas. And, Tropical Storm Dean is chugging towards Jamaica and is expected to be a Category 3 Hurricane by wednesday when it reaches Jamaica. Stay safe. We are starting to prepare already in FLA. |

Title: Re: Mexico Post by Sandy_C on Aug 15th, 2007, 2:36pm Have a ball! Wish I was there! :'( I love going to Mexico. I've been three times - first one doesn't count because I was on a cruise ship that stopped in Cozumel for a day, but that one day told me I wanted more! Spent an all inclusive week in Cancun, which was awesome! Even though it was shortly after hurricane Ivan (I think) and the beaches were gone, the pool, especially the pool bar just beckoned me. They opened the beaches the day before our departure, and I excavated the most gorgeous, biggest conch shell (actually it is a whelk) right out of the newly exposed rocks in the water. Two years later, went to an all inclusive in Playa del Carmen. Also gorgeous. The beaches are actually much nicer, and bigger than in Cancun. The whole area is less crowded, geared more to "adults" as opposed to the "college" crowd, and, pay attention GUYS, the beaches are topless. My husband loved it. Less of a party atmosphere..clubs and bars, but better shopping, and more international (lots of French, German, European guests). Oh, and it also had a great pool bar, which I got to know very well! We try for a major trip every two years, and usually try to go in September (anniversary month). This year should be our Mexico trip. However, our youngest is getting married on the 15th of September. So, since the buck doesn't stretch that far, we're not taking a vacation at all :-/ Mexico ROCKS! Sandy |

I can respond to you and SandyC with this post.We are in Cancun this is our second time here we love it.This is the first time we brought the kids.We are staying at the new Great Parnassus built in November of 06.This hotel is geared for family's they have excellent kid programs like kid camp and baby club the kid workers are fantastic. Sandy what Hotel did you stay at? The last time we were here we stayed at the Crown Paradise we think that one was a little better then this one. We already have next years trip planned we are going back to the Crown Paradise for 1 week and either Playa Del Carmen or Riviera Maya for 1 week thats right next year is 2 weeks.I agree with you and so does my wife we love it here storms or no storms. To be honest I like the storms somewhat cause its not so hot and theres a nice breeze all the time and when you have kids with you it would be to hot for them then they get cranky Dave |
