Title: Trolls under our bridge! Post by rolo65 on Aug 11th, 2007, 12:34pm I see no need for anyone to apologize for water boarding the trolls. They are getting off on sapping our sympathy and confusing the new people who come here for help when they are at the grim reapers door. Unforgivable in my mind. The sooner they are identified, the less damage they can do! Toying with people in pain is a disgrace that must be dealt with in a capitol punishment manor! (IMHO!) >:( Rolo. |

Title: Re: Trolls under our bridge! Post by Charlotte on Aug 11th, 2007, 1:01pm I'm with you on this Rolo. Toying with people in pain is a disgrace. Although they may have their own pain, they seem to come aboard like brand new people who have never asked a question before, and those who wish to help jump in. We are here because this is our lifeline. We don't want to throw all the lines to someone who is just collecting them. Charlotte |

Title: Re: Trolls under our bridge! Post by LeLimey on Aug 11th, 2007, 1:17pm Medical websites attract nutjobs - you look at message boards for any other conditions and you'll see the same sort of thing going on. Do I understand these idiots? Nope Do I want to? Even bigger nope! Sometimes I will answer their "questions" when there is a chance to put out information that may help someone else. This isn't for their benefit but for the hundreds of people who read this site daily and never post. I will ALWAYS correct any misinformation they post and in the case of CHTom and all his alter egos - I'll expose him - again and again and again. Other than that I think the best thing is not to give them the attention they crave where possible. Oh my Gawd - someone tell me this doesn't mean I'm growing up quick ;;D |

Title: Re: Trolls under our bridge! Post by Jonny on Aug 11th, 2007, 1:19pm Looks like we add a new name to CHtoms troll names. For the benefit of new people 1234/CHTom is our resident troll. He serves no purpose except to confuse, obfuscate and distress posters while providing a wealth of misinformation of his own. The best response to him is no response. All we do is inform people as best we can that his posts are unsound. The only one that has tried to egg me on with the spelling "Jonnie" was him.......its him ;;D |

Title: Re: Trolls under our bridge! Post by George_J on Aug 11th, 2007, 6:29pm What's more, it's often the same trolls over and over again. A bunch of the old familars have returned-- Ali, CHTom (he of the many names), and Superwhiner--all in quick succession. What's up with that? Did they just get back from their own convention? Is it global warming? Bird flu? Curious. Haven't seen cardogman in a while though. Maybe Burt got hit by a bus or something. Best, George |

Title: Re: Trolls under our bridge! Post by George_J on Aug 12th, 2007, 11:07am I've heard the advice to "ignore the trolls" for years. Can anyone show me when this has actually worked? Seems to me it's more effective to identify and isolate them. That way, people will not innocently respond to a troll's post and further the troll's agenda. At that point, if one wishes, ignoring the troll can work just fine--since it's clear that the troll is a troll. My respects to those who choose to follow the high road, and choose to adamantly ignore suspected trolls from the get-go--but with respect, it's no fun to walk the high road if you have to shake cockroaches off your legs to get anywhere. Disclaimer: JMHO. YMMV. Kumbaya. Best wishes, George |

Title: Re: Trolls under our bridge! Post by Ghost on Aug 13th, 2007, 3:59pm low post count and either instigating trouble or picking out partial statements or misspellings to harp upon... trying to use them out of context ... those are just a few ways but there are soooo many more like the latest morph of chtom he always comes in swinging at jonny. I guess he like abuse but who knows. as CHTom he actually got me mad enough for CHen abuse I invited him over to go hunting but he couldnt come out to play. Now for the most part I just ignore till he get to abusive if I am around then have fun with him till he ignores me then i push some more. ;;D ;;D ;;D ;;D ;;D ;;D ;;D ;;D ;;D ;;D Mike |
