Yes they do, Jonny. I was told there is smallmouth bass and walleye in there, but no boats allowed at all so that is nice. just cast off the many rocks on the shoreline. We just got back again from there so we need a cold beer on the deck. [smiley=beer.gif] ;;D Barry |

Title: Re: Mountain Bike Adventure With Pics! Post by barry_sword on Aug 15th, 2007, 9:32am Thanks guys. :) Yes it is an awesome place. I promise I won't bore you with a bunch of our holiday pics, but here are 5 more from a place called the Torrance Barrens, about 45 mins. from our house. We started out with breakfast on an outdoor patio at the Sunset Grill overlooking our famous steamships. Here are the steamships. http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7d634b3127cceba5a1f0b8e5b00000026101AZtGrZu5asU We do get flats while riding but we do come prepared. http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7d634b3127cceba5a1440ce8d00000026101AZtGrZu5asU This is our group minus Angie (she is taking the photo) http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7d634b3127cceba5a144cce8100000026101AZtGrZu5asU It was so much fun with the group on Sunday, Angie and I went back on Tuesday on our own. http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7d634b3127cceba5a14374fca00000026101AZtGrZu5asU Finale pic. This is me in riding through a rock garden which is in the center of the Torrance Barrens. People stop and build these rock things, I just do not know what they are called. http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7d634b3127cceba5a1430cefd00000026101AZtGrZu5asU Thanks again for allowing us to share a little piece of where we live and our holiday pics. Sorry, no Orbs here! We are going riding today back at Buckwallow Cycling Center where the aliens seem to be. [smiley=laugh.gif] Barry&Angie :) |

Title: Re: Mountain Bike Adventure With Pics! (Updated) Post by cynjeep89 on Aug 15th, 2007, 9:55am Barry and Angie, Thanks for sharing your pics. It is so great to see how beautiful it is in your neck of the woods. I have to admit that your pics and the pics and stories of other CHers and their supporters brings tears to my eyes and a smile to my face. Thru all of the pain, frustration. sleepless nights, shadow filled days, countless neurologist appointments, failed medication trials, etc., clusterheads prove that we are the toughest group of people that I have ever known. Seeing you and Angie enjoying mountain biking, Elaine's grandson smiling thanks to the love from his Grandmom, people sharing their stories and pics of the blessings of newborn babies, pregnancies, their precious children, family reunions, birthday wishes, weddings, vacations, conventions, proms and events from every day life. All of this proves that we can sometimes be knocked down by the Demon, but we manage to get back up and continue living our lives to the fullest. I know it's tough and sometimes it seems almost impossible to do but we do it. If this isn't a smack to the Demon's face I don't know what is! |

Title: Re: Mountain Bike Adventure With Pics! (Updated) Post by barry_sword on Aug 15th, 2007, 10:07am Thanks E-Double, it is a very special place. Cyn, that was so nicely said. As you say about all that we go through with the beast we never let him win. ATTITUDE! Yesterday I was on cloud 9 then when we got back to the parking lot ---- yep! A kip 4. Screw you I told him, not after that ride pal, grabbed my masx and sucked in some o2 and he left right away. Thank god for the portable tank. Barry |
