He has a pin in the map. Monday he will learn about Texas and write you a letter. He also received one from George in Idaho, George PM me your address so he can write you back. Tuesday he will be writing you a letter, also learn about Idaho . You both should have seen his face when he got them. He is so happy, and ready to write letters and learn about the states. I was showing him pictures of you and he saw those Tattos on your arm. He loves fake Tattos. He has seen how real tattos are done so he knows they are painful. He took one look at your picture and he said " WOW" "I know he is tuff, to endure that kind of pain". When Papa came home it was the first thing he did was show him your picture. Now he really thinks his name is cool ! ;) |

We are putting the cards around the map and putting a string from each card to the state the person lives in. When I get more cards I will post a picture. Everyone sending a card will receive a letter from JD. Remember he is only six. He writes one letter each week day. It might take a while before you get your letter, but you will get one. I will PM you as when he writes you a letter. I don't know who is having the most fun, JD, Deveny, Buddy or me. You should see his face when he gets one. |

Post by LadyElaine1 on Aug 14th, 2007, 11:52am Yesterday Jd received cards from Jonny and a Surrender your Gold T-shirt LoL, He also received cards YESTERDAY from, Jerry (Callico), Philip, and a 3ed one from Tim. Miss Jackie sent him a card and two coins in it. He collects coins. He has two letters written already. One for George, and one for Tim. Tim yours was mailed today. George yours will be in the mail tomorrow. Tomorrow he will write Cyn a letter. Jonny your letter will be in the mail Friday. Miss Jackie your letter will be in the mail next Monday, he enjoyed talking to you last night. He has added his coins to his collection. Thanks everyone for making this fun. So far he has cards from, Taxes, Idaho, Delaware, Massachusetts, Indianian, Illinois, and New Jersey. Seven states so far. He is learning about one state a week. We love you guys! Elaine and JD |

I talked to Sarah, who is currently in Poland (see my lemons post) and explained what you were doing. She can't get to town today to get the card becauses of her foot, BUT, she is sending one of her friends to get him one, so he will be getting one from Poland. When you get more toward studying the world, let me know. I'm a ham radio operator (used to be anyway) and I have cards from all over the world (and many are duplicates, so I wouldn't mind sharing), close to 300 countries. Obviously he couldn't write them back, but he'd still have the card. Carolyn |

When I got then, they were what he had done last year. He told his Mom it was boring, like someone who tells a bad joke, and the crowd doesn't go wild! LOL, He has a way with words. I had to send off for 2nd grade books. Now he is no longer board. This one project is covering spelling, History, Science, writing, and reading. You all are helping him learn. Because this has made it fun for him. He is enjoying reading what you all write. |

I read him your letter, I told him about how old these cards are. 1963 and 1940. He thinks that is neat. His Mom had some picture holder sheets. Those cards have been placed in there, and they are the start of his card collection. When we are done all the cards he received will be placed in the book. I think in one card I see a 54 ford, and a 57 chev. He will be sending you a letter soon Charlie. Cyndi, JD wrote you a letter yesterday, and its in the mail. Just went through the corner of the TX panhandle, and didn't find any Texas cards in the two stores I stopped at. :( When I went through Missouri it was at night, and I forgot to stop for him. :-[ Please don't make him answer each one of them! It makes the trips fun for me to have something to find for somone. I love the book of the 50 states. That is so cool. JD feel in love with the stuff cow, and Badger! We have made the Badger, our school mascot ! Every school needs a mascot! He likes to sleep with a stuffed animal, the cow he will sleep with. The letter you wrote him made us both smile. So your 15 year old is Taller than you. They do grow fast. Thank you two for the extra mile you went. Everything will be put to good use. Oh I gave the fed x guy a cold coke its in the 100's here. Thanks for all the facts on Wisconsin, thats a big help! He will write you a reply on Monday Aug 27th and it will be in the mail the 28th. Yes I write it all down in his lesson plan book. Thanks You two! We started him writing when he was 4 years old. We use writing without tears. Its a great tool. My handwriting is even better after using it LOL. Charlie, he has the picture of the house on your street on the wall map. He loves all the snow and thinks anyone who lives where it snows is lucky ! Pat he learning about how things are born. That was his very own creations. I thought it was real good also. After reading him what you all had to say. JD said "wish they were my teachers. You never give me a 100 on writing !"
