Title: A knock at my door ! Post by LadyElaine1 on Aug 3rd, 2007, 2:13pm What a surprise when I open it to find my ex and his new wife. Oh my God, I just looked at him. He said you were hard to find, could you have moved any further out ! I just sang ! Green acres is the place for me. Farm livin' is the life for me. Land spreadin' out so far and wide. Keep Atlanta, just give me that countryside. ;;D We all laugh broke the ice...and boy was it thick. How did ya find me? Was my next question. "Oh we ran into Buddy the other day and he told me how to get here, I thought I would surprise you." (At this time I am making a mental note to break Buddys neck, he will pay for this one ). >:( They come in and introductions to his new wife, and to our grandson he has never met. I fix coffee and server cake. We sit in the kitchen and talk. Its been 10 years or more since we talked. I say "what brings you here to see me" His reply." I wanted to see the kids and figured I had some grandchildren. (OK stay cool this will be over soon I am saying to myself). :o I reply when they grew up all but one moved out. They don't live here. LOL. ;;D Then what happen to your sixth wife? How did they meet? They told me oh God did they tell me. The wife gave me way to much info. She went on to tell me "How wonderful he is behind closed doors, then she said but you know that. I said no not really, I was one of his first wives, he wasn't that good back then, I guess they get better with age. Damn it, that went right over her head, but I could tell my ex caught it. 8) We did all the small talk and they kept staying. I finally said "this has been real nice but why are you really here?." Then he wanted to know how to get in touch with all the kids. (He now wants to be a family man.) >:( I tell him well I don't know how to get a hold of two of then. One is moving and one is always on the move. I will be glad to call the other two and let you talk to them and if they want to see you, then that is up to them. I dial the number of one. She blew him off real fast. Then I dialed the number of the other and she hit the roof. In 25 years the only time this man has shown his face is when he gets a new wife. He hangs up and says well he expected that. He wanted me to give him their numbers and address. I told him no . I would give them his number and address and should they want to contact him ok. 8) The tension was so thick you cut it with a knife. He said that was fair. I told him it was nice seeing him, but I didn't think we could be friends now, there was just to much under the bridge and to many people were affected by it all. He agreed, and his giggling wife hanging all over him agreed too. Then as they were leaving his wife stopped on the stairs and looked up at me and said, I just can't believe you divorced him, he is such a good man. (I thought I would throw up) I looked at her and said "Honey you being his seventh wife should tell you something. There are six other women and 8 children and 15 grandchildren that have the same opinion of the man as I do. [smiley=sgrin.gif] I closed the door, and Thanked God for my life now ! I think I will kiss Buddy instead of breaking his neck. [smiley=inlove.gif] From now on I am looking out the window before opening the door! [smiley=curtain.gif] |

Title: Re: A knock at my door ! Post by Rosybabe on Aug 3rd, 2007, 3:03pm Elaine, you do have some cold blood...I will close the door in their frickin face and send them walking... I am in the same situation as your kids and trust me, "the man" is like dead to me... like a phone call saying: "Hi, I am your Dad..." will change years of abandonment... and Buddy should have told you about his encounter with this man... |

Title: Re: A knock at my door ! Post by LadyElaine1 on Aug 3rd, 2007, 3:20pm Jackie I would have called you but the first person I called was Buddy. I told him how much I loved him and then asked why he gave our address to my ex. He said he never thought the man would show up ! He forgot about it. I can understand that my ex is easy to forget ! :-) You know I would have called you but it being Friday I thought you would be out shopping. I knew you would call as soon as you saw the post. Just think what would have happen had you and Jean and Eric and few others here had been with me. Boy we could of really had some fun LMAO. Rosybabe Yep thats me cold blooded. Especially when someone wants to cause problems for my children. I know him like a book, he just wanted to show off his young wife, and he pulling the I miss my kids thing on her. He does that every time he remarries. |

Title: Re: A knock at my door ! Post by sldrswyfe on Aug 4th, 2007, 3:40am You handled that just right Elaine. That is a very difficult situation...and without ANY preparation...you sailed through it. You also were give some choice openings...and thank God you took them!! Like when the ditz bag said "I can't believe you divorced him " (giggle, giggle...uuh..woman like that drive me nuts...and ones that "baby talk" >:() He really had brass ones showing up like that...it really shows his character. That is a very delicate situation and should be handled as such. Just blowing in the door to "talk" to people you've emotionally demolished is in very poor taste. You're a champ in my book Elaine. |
