LMAO... you've got about 12 hours for the fridge. After that, throw the perishables away.
My other suggestion... get a new fridge you cheapskate. I don't think they've made that kind since the 60s.

The old piece of crap came with the house. I couldn't fit an eskimoe pie into the freezer.

Looked like March of the Penguins in there.

The freezer on my fridge was so iced up it looked like something on the Discovery Channel. So. I tried to "defrost " it.

With a hammer and a wood chisel.

Puncutured the freon line.

I see about a $500.00 purchase in your very near future.

I didn't even need to consult the cards for that one... [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=laugh.gif]

If this were back in my drinking days I would have been at the appliance store 32 seconds after the first hiss of freon escaping.

Do you know what is really scary? I did the same thing 23 years ago myself! Tried to defrost the freezer with a knife and a rolling pin and - naturally - went straight through the bloody side!

I slammed the door shut and took the dog for a loooong walk while my mum discovered it LOL It was the one piece of my misspent youth I got away with  ;;D

What can I say Chewy? You remind me of me whn I was young and stupid  ::)

Take the door off, it should float.

If you were near Niagara Falls..., ah, that's probably been done before.

Rosybabe..........does he have a service contract???? From his description, the only contract he has is with the Smithsonian....they weren't aware any of those models were still in existence and had reserved a whole wing to show case it!!!! They'll be devastated to hear it's no longer pristine!!!!!! ;;D

So if I get skin cancer from the sunburn I most likely will get this weekend, I can blame you for releasing all of that freon into the atmoshpere?

the redneck defrosting method gone awry.

might as well keep with the theme:  turn it on its back, lay it in the back of yer pickup, fill with water.

Set beer cooler to side, climb in and enjoy your brand new spa.   ;;D

Look on the bright side...

When that sad, inevitable day comes, many years from now, you won't have to buy a spendy coffin.  Think of the money you'll save.

Should work fine, as long as you scrooch up a little.   ;)

Best,

George
