Title: Re: Made in America! Post by thebbz on Jul 18th, 2007, 9:18pm Jonny, Tom thumb flew the F-14 Tomcat in top gun. Iran had 86 of them. They dont know how many are airworthy. The F-15E will shoot them down all day anyway. Nice video. jb WE DO WEAPONS |

Title: Re: Made in America! Post by fubar on Jul 19th, 2007, 1:58pm Yesterday we were treated to some AWESOME sonic booms that shook the whole house. My two-story house shook like it was a tree-house. They tell us it was because the new F-22 Raptors were doing training missions and we had perfect conditions for transmitting that sonic boom all the way to the ground. Normally, they dissipate enough that the 'boom' is hardly noticed, but yesterday...wow. That F-15 is nice, but that F-22 is something to behold. |

The F-15 is an awesome machine. We had several that remained uploaded for bear and ready to launch at a moments notice when I was stationed in Korea. I saw them launch a few times to interdict stray Russian, Chinese and North Korean aircraft. I'm not able to load the video (damned dialup), but it would seem that the F-22, with it's vectored thrust, should be able to counter a flat spin easier that a standard fighter jet. |

Title: Re: Made in America! Post by Kevin_M on Jul 21st, 2007, 5:59pm The annual day-long mystery car alarm jamboree at work today from most every flyby while the Selfridge Air National Guard air show went on a couple miles away. We usually catch flybys and turn arounds over the parking lot. A perfect jetstreamed smiley face in the sky. None of the Golden Knights parashute team landing in our parking lot so that must have been good too. :) |

"they" are guessing between 10-15 iranian F-14's are airworthy. careful with the F-14 flaming. youre dealing with a turkey lover.....besides that, keep in mind that the eagle may have speed, but the tomcats had a long arm with a really big fist (Phoenix missiles ;) ) |

Title: Re: Made in America! Post by hikerguy on Jul 22nd, 2007, 10:43am They ( Iran) must have cannibalized the others when they took the hostages Mcdonnel douglas? took all the technical manuals with them so most are not airworthy |

Not meaning to nitpick ya, but the Blue Angels fly the F-18 Hornet. The F-15 Eagle is an Air Force bird. |
