Title: The "Hits" keep coming Post by FastEddie on Jul 16th, 2007, 1:36pm I've had 12 hits since 11PM and they keep coming! Someone at the convention said that could be a sign my cycle is ending. I HOPE THE HELL IT IS! Never had this many this fast before, and it REALLY SUCKS. I wanted to go fishing dammit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Title: Re: The "Hits" keep coming Post by DennisM1045 on Jul 16th, 2007, 2:16pm Hi, I'm sorry to hear you're having such a tough time of it. I dug up and read through your introduction and I'm left with some questions: Are you seeing a Neurologist? If not, why not? If so, what abortives/preventatives are you on? Having just returned from the convention the massive hits could be travel related. I'm sure you heard the same questions and got some sound advice down there. Well, let's hope the hits die down tonight and allow you to get some rest. Good luck... -Dennis- |

Title: Re: The "Hits" keep coming Post by FastEddie on Jul 16th, 2007, 2:29pm The Dr. has me on Verapmil, but only two 120mg/day. I found out from a lot of people at the convention that is not enough. I have Imitrex shots that I cut to 3mg, but I try to save them for the ones that go full blown and wake me up. I am buying a bigger oxygen valve on e-bay right now because the one I had untill last week only went to 8' I now have one that goes to 12 but I am buying one that goes to 25. Thanks for the support; I need it right now. Eddie Langford |

Title: Re: The "Hits" keep coming Post by DennisM1045 on Jul 16th, 2007, 2:39pm It sounds like you are on the right track. Stay with it. I've been on Verap 240mg for a few months now. I tried 900mg Neurontin too but couldn't stay on that. Too dizzy, distracted for normal living. I had to give it up. My next cycle should have started weeks ago but hasn't. Just some shadows and a Kip 5 last Saturday. Nothing major to speak of. I'm not sure if this is lingering effects of Neurontin or just a steady diet of Verapamil. How long have you been on the Verapamil now? -Dennis- |

Title: Re: The "Hits" keep coming Post by FastEddie on Jul 16th, 2007, 2:56pm Been on Verapmil about two years. This is my 4th cycle and it has been going on for at least 4 months now. I have times when I won't have a hit for 2-3 days and then I will have 4-5 a day. I just got over # 14 or 15 today (I've lost count). All but three my oxygen took care of in 8-10 minutes but the others were a bitch and I had to hit the Imitrex with the oxygen. I tried Neurontin a couple of years ago and gave it up also. I didn't like what it did to me. |

Title: Re: The "Hits" keep coming Post by Patrick_A on Jul 16th, 2007, 4:54pm Hey Eddie, My fix was 920mgs of Verapamil, and 80mgs of Prenisone, both tapered up, and then tapered the Prednisone back down 1st and then the verapamil. If you flew home, then I'd say the pressure inside the plane gave you those extra CH's. I have read that the Barometric pressure is what gives us all of these CH's. Not sure though. Patrick_A |

Linda taught me this. You should try using the 02 for longer. Go ahead and keep on the 02 for a full 20 min. if you are not already. That increased the time between hits dramatically. Good luck at the fishin hole. all the best |

Title: Re: The "Hits" keep coming Post by Sean_C on Jul 16th, 2007, 10:50pm Ed you only need to raise your o2 regulator to a setting that allows you to keep the bag say 3/4ers full. Exceeding that is just waisting it. Are you using liquid oxygen? How about the clustermasx? Keep the faith bro, I'm hoping the beast quiets down soon ;) Cheers, Sean...................................... |

Title: Re: The "Hits" keep coming Post by Batch on Jul 16th, 2007, 10:56pm Eddie, Great meeting you and your wife in Richmond. Sorry you're having such a rough time. I wish I could take a few hits from you to give you some slack time, but I'm in high cycle and getting slammed 4 to 5 times a night... at least they spare me with good days... Patrick_A was right... Take the E tank mask and regulator with you and go fishing... V/R, Batch |

Title: Re: The "Hits" keep coming Post by FastEddie on Jul 17th, 2007, 8:22am OK I guess. I got 2-1/2 hrs sleep last night. I had 3 hits; 2 mild and one real mother. I did go fishing and had some fun catching 3 bass. It really gets depressing when you get that many back to back; I never had that many at one sitting before. That was one hell of a platefull to swallow. I am going into the office today and try to do something to take my mind off of yesterday. I just hope today is not a repeat performance. Thanks for thinking of me (dammit I'm tearing up again thinking about all of you). You helped me more than you will ever know. I get a little down and all I gotta do is tell one of ya and then a bunch of you get me off my "woe is me" syndrome. Did ya get to see the pictures I posted and read about the regulators I found for anyone that needs a high flow one? I am learning how to post; I ain't there yet, but at least I'm trying. Love ya girl; It's like I've known you for years already! PS: My bride said to tell ya hi |

Title: Re: The "Hits" keep coming Post by Rosybabe on Jul 17th, 2007, 8:28am Eddie, just think of this...there is always the peak and then the slown down, you are probably reaching the peak point and the hits will start to be less from now on and you will be pain free in no time. Hang in there! :) |
