WTF is the goverment doing telling us that a terrorist cell is here and the fuckin border is wide open?

Im all for getting the job done in Iraq, but why the fuck are we letting thousands of people walk into this country with criminal records and who knows what diseases.

Just on the first google page about border security I come up with these:

Someone please tell me why a 61 year old woman in Mississipi is doing three years in jail for selling vibrators and our police are not allowed to ask felons if the are legal citizens.....somebody please fucking tell me why?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tommy chong does 9 months in jail for selling a bong and in Washington state we have an illegal convicted rapist (1990) that just raped and killed a 12 year old girl!

WTF is wrong with this?

CBP Border Patrol Apprehensions Down Along Southern Border

Washington U.S. Customs and Border Protection Border Patrol apprehensions are down 24 percent compared to the previous year along the southwest border, indicating a continued decline in illegal cross-border activity between ports of entry.

During the period Oct. 1-June 30, Border Patrol agents made 682,468 apprehensions along the nation's southern border compared to 894,496 apprehensions during the same period last year.

Additionally, Border Patrol agents have seized more than 1.478 million pounds of marijuana (a 27 percent increase) and 9,514 pounds of cocaine (a 22 percent increase) compared to the same period in fiscal year 2006 along the southwest border (Oct. 1- June 30).

"Streamline"......Thanks, Kev, thats the one I was looking for but couldnt remember the name. Its no more catch and release with that operation, they are arrested and sit in jail for six months before deported.

Plus, crime in those areas is down by 70-80 percent.

You are right Jonny in that it is a damn busy place. With figures like that on apprehensions and drugs, it takes a LOT of diligence. ;)

Those are only 9 month figures, not yearly. They excluded the Summer months for some reason.

My 2 cents worth [it's just an opinion]:

Why they won't close borders [or seriously control ports]...

1. Too much $ to be made off us "defending" us against terrorists
[military, law enforcement, Congress, etc...all have to be paid for by us].

2. Too much $ to be made off us "defending" us against drugs
*remember the "War On Drugs" ::)
[law enforcement, judges, lawyers, prisons, D.E.A., etc...all have to be paid for by us].

3. Too much $ to be made off us "fighting" illegal immigration
[border patrol, military, law enforcement, INS, etc...all have to be paid for by us].

Many other $ making reasons, $ the government "justifies"
why our taxes are so high & they say are "necessary" costs.
As with many, many other things in life...it's all about the $$$$$.

Ahhh thank you...people are reading and thinking twice over this whole income tax issue.

What gets to me is that the average Joe is so ignorant as to what the income tax is paying for. Mr. Joe Schmo argues about interstate highways, social programs etc. Federal Income taxes are earmarked for nothing more than paying the interest on the Federal debt. It goes directly to the Federal Reserve for just such purpose.

Article 1 section 8 of the Bill of rights states

They are borrowing from US, the constituency of the USA. They are taxing us to pay the interest of what they have borrowed from us and other nations on credit. If I had access to all documentation, (which as an average citizen I don't) I think there could be a case for double taxation, but thats my lay-persons opinion. I'd like to sit with Tom and ask him a few pointed questions..I'll tell you that much.

Great Post Jonny!

It has been my pet peeve for a few years. Trillions of dollars spent on this war and the one in Afghanistan. We should have first closed our borders to all illegal entries. I'd feel a zillion times safer if that was true.

My other thing is..... This week in China, They executed a leader for taking bribes. He was the FDA of China. Executed his ass in the public square!

Crime in China is almost Nil. Do ya wonder why?
Fugg around in China and get caught doing soemthing bad and ya go to court and are convicted..... They take ya straight to the square and put a bullet in ur head.
I believe all them perverts would keep that shit to themselves if they was gonna get a bullet.

Now Jonny dont get me going. Did you see the fence that we do have on the border...with built in steps. Illegals use the ribbing in the sheet metal for steps climb right over, go to the hospital get medical attention for free, go to the local welfare get free clothing food and housing. Then tell all their friends down south to come on over the waters fine. >:( >:( >:( >:( I am so pissed I cant even clean my weapon properly.

Yep, the root of all evil has in God we trust on it.
There was a group in Montana that refused to pay taxes holed up on the ranch and declared it was no longer US land. It almost turned into Waco 2. The feds surrounded the placed and they are all in jail now.
Turns out it was all over the non payment of federal farm loans. Back to the root of all evil. What a world what a world.

Until the American people SPEAK OUT and tell Congress that we're not taking any more of this crap - we're going to be taking it over and over.

The PEOPLE are NOT happy right now, but not ENOUGH are speaking out where it does any good. All our rep's numbers (phone, fax and e-mail) are listed on the web - all we have to do is bomb-bard them with phone calls, e-mails, faxes, and snail mail - threaten if you have to, but LET them KNOW how you feel about things (one item per letter, call or e-mail).

THEN check to SEE how they VOTE on things. If they VOTE WRONG - let 'em know you're unhappy and ain't gonna vote for them anymore and will do your damnest to get them UNELECTED (and follow up on it!).

A lot of people look at the BIG picture and only see the forrest and not the trees. Look around your TOWN and see what's wrong there (probably the same thing that's happening in DC) - start raising hell there (it's good practice). Then watch your state legislators (Texas is a mess right now, but they've had my opinion about how they acted the last session). Then take on DC. Or do it all at once (I do). But take it one bite at a time (one issue at a time).

WE CAN make a difference, but we've got to get over our apathy and FEAR of those in CHARGE - hell we ELECTED them - we can get RID of them!

The bad part is - we've been programed to FEAR authority. Get over it! We just need to develop a new mind-set. These people who are making these "rules" are OUR employees - get that thru your heads - and they've been hired to do OUR bidding. We have to let them know that we're NOT dumb little sheep waiting for them to tell us how to think.

Until WE stand up for OURSELVES we're gonna keep on bitching and getting NOTHING done. That old typing axiom comes to mind: NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL GOOD MEN TO COME TO THE AID OF THEIR COUNTRY!

I still think that someone could get elected by talking about nothing other than health care, health care and more health care. Gen X would go to the polls for it and others. Specific solutions would be impossible for some time but I think it would still work and change the climate in D. C. to talk about something serious. Those that won't would be dead meat.

Even the former Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain did not stop illicit trade. As long as there is big money to be made, criminals, corrupt businessmen and corrupt government officials will find a way to cirmcumvent the law. It is interesting that now that there are no borders in Europe, crime has decreased. In The Netherlands, where marijuana and hashish are sold in certain "Coffee Shops", to purchase the drugs in such shops IS legal, but for the owner of the shops to purchase them is ILLEGAL!(?). On a TV show several years ago, a "Coffee Shop" owner was asked how he obtained his grass and hash-he smiled, lifted his eyes and hands up to the sky and said: "It falls from the sky!" The police know this and only intervene if the user of the drugs causes problems, otherwise it is tolerated and the drug related crime rate is very low. Heroin is also legal for certified addicts. I think that if the US adopted such a policy, the US crime rate would decrease dramatically; by the way, peyote and psylocibin can be purchased in "Head Shops" legally, but not in marijuana/head bars-don't ask me why. When you go into a "Coffee Shop", you are never asked if you want to purchase grass or hash, you have to go to the backroom where they are available-they even have a menu listing the brand and strength (some real good shit!) by the gram and you can either smoke it in the bar or take it home. Maybe US lawmakers should take a look at the "Dutch Solution"-it has not created a nation of junkies and has increased tax revenues and freed the police for more important business, not that Holland or Germany has much serious crime. Something to think about as the "War on Drugs" can never be won and is, in my opinion, a waste of time and precious resources and places police in dangerous situations that they need not be in (by the way, the legally sold drugs are taxed at about 20%); the same is the case with prostitution-regulated, taxed, regular medical exams for the workers and a low HIV rate. People have been engaging in these activities since prehistoric times and are NOT going to stop, so might as well regulate them and tax them; those who don't want to participate need not.
