Title: Re: Taste poll Post by sandie99 on Jul 7th, 2007, 2:21am Ok. I hate to be difficult, but when you say "black licorice" which treat you mean? Back here in Finland we have two different kind of treats which both are refered as "licorice" in English speaking countries. To us one of them is called lakritsi (which I would refer as licorice) and the other is salmiakki (which some also call as salty licorice). And I dislike most salty licorices (they are too salty/strong for me) and the other, licorice, I like it but its not my fave treat of them all. Sanna |

Title: Re: Taste poll Post by catlind on Jul 8th, 2007, 10:48am Yay to black licorice, especially if it's made in the true sense that licorice was used as a medicinal ingredient. The anise has a powerful effect on the body, particularly if combined with other herbs. Cat |

Title: Re: Taste poll Post by Redd on Jul 8th, 2007, 11:13am Agreed with Cat... Ummm...can I put in a bid on the biscotti? [smiley=laugh.gif] |

Title: Re: Taste poll Post by sldrswyfe on Jul 9th, 2007, 10:07am Other than an evacuant, what are the benefits of black licorice? The timing of your question is ironic Tony. I got a box of "Jujyfruits" this weekend, I havent' had them in years. I pick out the black licorice flavored ones...and eat one only after Im done eating the fruit flavored because of the strong taste. It will overpower the fruit after I eat it. Yay...once in awhile though. |

Title: Re: Taste poll Post by tanner on Jul 9th, 2007, 11:56am Don't care much for the licorice, but love the flavor of anise used sparingly in cooking and baking. I am not going to be there to get any so go ahead and make black anus biscotti and screw em if they can't take a joke ;;D Man, I finally get a moment to respond to posts and I start out being a disgusting pig ::) hmmmm... gonna go spend a few hours with my baby and see if I can't recover my nice qualities :) Love to all........Tim |
