A very good friend from here is very very sick.  The medical care she's getting is quite insufficient.

Please, please add her to your prayers.

I don't have her permission to post her name.

but they released her from the hospital in *worse* condition than when she went in.  at this point, it could be (could be, not is... yet) life or death.

The prayers are for me.  I suffer from paranoid schizophrenia as well as major depression.  I am on meds for both but they stoped working.  I started hearing voices telling me to kill myself and that I am a no good person, and desearve to die etc.  I have not been halllucinating in the sense of seeing things.  Just hearing voices.  The antidepressant I am on quit working.  I feel like killing myself of which there is a high sucess rate for people with sz and depression.  My phyciatrist was going to change my antiphycotic and my antidepressant while I was at home feeling sucidial.  There was no way I was going to have the rug yanked out from under me.  So we decided it would be best for me to go to the hospital and check into the mental ward.  I was there for 5 days.  They changed my antiphycotic low dose of it. and upped my antidepressant.  I was feeling worse the day they discaharged me than the day I went in.  They felt in time I would start to feel better and discharge me.  Also the unit was full and someone was waiting for my bed.  My husband called the hospital and filed a complaint about them discharging me feeling worse than when I was admitted.  Apparently the old antiphycotic causes as a side effect some people to just feel terrible and want to die so they took me off that convinced that I would be fine once off of it and give it some time.  I have an appointment in a couple of days with my phychiatrist.   I am going to try to get her to change my  antidepressant and hopefully feel better.  I have made a promise to my shrink, my family, the hospital and to Liz that I will not try to Kill myself exspeccially without talking to someone professional.  Right now I am sleeping all day and when I am awake I cry.  My husband has taken some time off of work to be with me to watch me and lift my spirits.  Thank you all for your prayers.   Please keep me in them for awhile it could be a couple more weeks befor I am clear of this.  Liz has been a great friend.  She has called me and let me know how much she cares and she came to the hospital and stayed for a couple of hours to visit me.  She got on me and made me promise not to kill myself.  

I just feel yucky now But I can feel your prayers working.  I covet every one I get.  I am sorry to put you through all this.  Thank you.  Love, Karla

So glad you posted Karla!!  I know it takes guts to do so - depression is difficult to understand, especially if you haven't been through it.
