Title: Mama's having kittens (got spayed)
Post by deltadarlin on Jul 2nd, 2007, 8:20am
Jimbo and Sarah leave this afternoon driving  to Dallas.  Tomorrow morning she gets on a plane to fly to JFK in New York and then will grab a flight tomorrow night, flying non-stop to Kracow Poland.

Mama is wired up/worried enough without all this bs involving the terrorists.

Please keep us in your thoughts.  Otherwise, what color of kitten do you want?  Mama's had several litters and expects several more before all this is said and done with.

Carolyn,

Take a deep breath (and maybe a valium). This is going to be ok. She's a big girl (this from a woman who had 6 liters of kittens the first time her little boy went off to his first sleep over!) ;;D

Seriously, it's gonna be ok. She's gonna have a great time, learn a lot and maybe even remember to drop you a note or two if she thinks about it. The empty nest syndrome is just kicking in.

Now, just to give you something else to worry about -- think about her suitcase -- did you remember the clean underware, the sweaters, ......????? [smiley=huh.gif]

Hugs BD

Carolyn - I expect there are a lot of us that have felt your anxiety at one time or another when the chicks fled the nest.

She's going to have a great time and you're going to worry yourself crazy but that's just the way it goes.

You gave her roots so she could try her wings - and that's just what she's doing.

Hang in there Mama!

Hugs
Carol

Not to worry Carolyn.

It's safer now than it was in the 1960s. It got so bad that it seemed that Havana was a stopover for eastern seaboard airlines.

She's gonna be just fine.

If anything she couldn't be flying at a safer time - security is going to be so rampant she couldn't be safer. Standards DO drop when nothing has happend for a while so she is in the best possible hands right now as far as flying is concerned

lots of love to you Carolyn ((HUG))

I promise to say some prayers for a safe journey, but I do believe that it's safe time to fly. :)

Hugs,
Sanna

You would think that I'd be so used to airplanes by now  that flying anywhere wouldn't bother me.  Daddy retired from Northwest (which was Republic before that and Southern Airways before that).  I still remember when the Southern airways jet was hijacked and taken to Cuba (don't think we ever recovered that ransom either).

Funny thing is, I'm not worried about her once she gets to Poland (although she does have a fondness for vodka  ::) ).

The only thing *bad* about this whole trip is her 6 hour layover at JFK, BUT, she has her computer, so she'll be fine.

They're off now, so I'll be the rest of the afternoon and night by myself (did I mention that I hate staying by myself and I used to love it).

I told Jimbo that with Sarah gone, he better get ready, cos' my running buddy won't be here and I'm going to talk to him instead of her  :o.

Sarah will be staying at Jagiellonian University which was founded in 1364  and is the second oldest university founded in central Europe.  Here is the link to some pictures and info about the university.

I know she's gonna be okay and I'd almost pity a hijacker who interfered with her trip, since this is something that she's been looking forward to for awhile now, plus she paid for this trip herself.

Think I've brought a migraine on so gonna go take a Maxalt MLT [smiley=hurl.gif] and watch Worlds Deadliest Catch (awesome show right up there with Ice Road Truckers).

thanks and hugs back to ya'

Think I added a few more white hairs to my head.  Last we heard of her was last night when she called and just when I told Jimbo not to move the phone (bad cord), guess what?  Yup, he moved the phone, so lost that connetction.

Waited, waited and did some more waiting for her to call home.  Couldn't take it any more so called the university (now that was one phone call that was hilarious, a Southerner trying to talk to a Pole, who's English wasn't the best in the world).

Anywho, got hold of her.  She said that she hadn't been able to exchange her USD for zlotys so she coulnd't get a phone card.  Of course she was fixing to call me collect  ::) so I would know she was okay.

phew

Alright Momma and Poppa....

Deep Breath...thats it...in...out...in ...out...

She's safe and sound at the Univ.   Shes spreading her wings...(which is, of course, normal while it is nerve-wracking for us parents.)

Just listen to your hearts.  You know she's well, and there are shaperones to take care of her.

Worry about what may happen and doesn't, you've worried in vain.  Worry and it comes to pass, you have worried twice.  Trust she has learned all you two have taught her, and that she is bright, because...with you two as parents...she certainly is.

From one parent to both of you...try (yes I know thats subjective) but try to relax.

Much Love to you both.
