Title: say no more ! Post by cutekev on Jun 21st, 2007, 7:48am The Cluster My eyes they slowly open I look around the room. Can I smile and have a breathe? Or is it a morning full of gloom? The sun shines through the curtains, Like a warm summer stream. Maybe I’m still sleeping? Maybe it’s just a dream? No. I jump into the shower, Shave, and a cup of tea. Put on my best suit. It’s a busy day for me. Now in the car I’m driving, with a gentle breeze in my face. What a wonderful feeling, oh what a glorious place. Tea and toast at the office, the pen pushes paper around. The printers buzz the phones ring, in amongst a happy crowd. But suddenly the clouds start looming. You know what I’m about to say. I think the Gremlins are waking up. And they’re coming out to play. They grab the sticks and snooker cue, and press it on my eye, Lets push it out I think they say, that’ll make him cry! The eye it turns red with fury, tears stream down my cheek. In sympathy the nose it runs. I feel sick and weak. My colleague he comes over and with short sharp slap on the back. You feeling alright there mate he says? Oh sorry to hear about that. My temper has left the building! My patience gone to seed. I don’t need his opinion, and a slap is all I need! So I stagger towards the car park, trembling hands holding my head I wish I had a time machine and go back to this morning in bed. With a bleep and a flash in the car I dash, and reach for the box of tricks I sit in the drivers seat feeling trapped in hell. I just pray that I’m not sick With a jab and a wince the bombs released, now I wait for it to work. I’m sitting sweating, trembling, Couldn’t give a damn about this earth. It’s a cluster I tell people, it isn’t very nice “Well something must have caused it” then they try to give advice I tired drinking water. It only made me pee. I stopped drinking alcohol. What a boring me! I tired running a marathon, I just got out of breath I haven’t tried the sex bit yet! But at the mo I couldn’t’ care less. I’d put vanilla pods up my nose, a cucumber up my arse! Just take this F’in pain away, God how much longer will it last? I stare upon the dashboard and gently hold my head. I wish I could be unconscious…..I wish I could be dead! I squirm like a madman. Rocking to and fro. Just give me a bloody shot gun and I’ll deliver the final blow. Then the gremlins like naughty children, suddenly stop and stare, the pain it begins to subside now. It’s going off somewhere. The smile returns within me. I get out the car and pace, what a glorious day it is today, isn’t it a wonderful place. With a smile I head to the office and with a joy a little jump. I go back up to my colleague and give him a friendly thump! Maybe we’ll go out for dinner, or drink or afternoon tea. No best not I start to think, the gremlins may come back you see. So if like me you are a professional and think that you got stress! Just try one of these bloody things! That’ll put you to the test! Maybe you want that promotion. I’d just like a good night’s sleep, or a glass or two or merlot; I don’t care even if it’s cheap. My body has been weakened; my soul has left in vein. But still the gremlins come to me and play their little game. Eat and sleep clusters, talk about nothing else. Change the bloody subject! Put the book back on the shelf. I’ll end this little story now, I need to go and pack. Oh hell I’m getting that twinge again….I think the gremlins back! |
