Title: Helen...update Post by Paul98 on Jun 2nd, 2007, 10:08pm Spoke with her earlier and she sounds better and is in better spirits. They put her back on Potassium this afternoon. Her blood cation [] < (that is shorthand for concentration) is still no where near normal but it is better. I suspect that with the IV Ca++ drip, she is scavenging up the stuff and her serum Ca++ has not gone up because her body is useing it. (At least this is what I'm hopeing for.) She has urine taken to see if it was being passed. She is now on a heart monitor every 6 hours instead of 24/7 so the immediate worry is lessened. I'll post more when I know more. -P. |

Title: Re: Helen...update Post by Paul98 on Jun 5th, 2007, 8:15pm She was hoping to get out of the "joint" today but I have not heard from her. Yesterday she said she wanted out if her blood cation concentrations were out of the danger zone. I'm concerned that she has not called today. If I hear anything I'll let folks know. -P. |

Title: Re: Helen...update Post by catlind on Jun 6th, 2007, 10:54am Tell Helen to park her a$$ in a comfortable spot and STAY PUT until she is fully recovered. Nobody likes to be in the hospital, but she will just end up back in there again if she doesn't stay until she is recovered and maintaining her potassium and calcium levels. I wish that woman would worry about herself as much as she worries about the rest us! Helen, you get well, and don't be in such a rush to get home - stay put and get well. *hugs* Cat |
