Title: Re: You either like him or not..... Post by Maffumatt on May 30th, 2007, 9:04pm Thats what secular progressives do best. The parents aren't complaining. If it was here they would be having school board elections a little early. |

Title: Re: You either like him or not..... Post by BMoneeTheMoneeMan on May 30th, 2007, 9:37pm Man, that is fucked up. U think the kids got permission slips to go to the assembly? When i was in school, i had to get permission to be in the health class where we learned about reproduction. It's been just 25 years since the motto was "Just say no", today it's "Experiment with drugs appropriately" |

Title: Re: You either like him or not..... Post by burnt-toast on May 30th, 2007, 10:06pm O’Reilly’s usually too extreme for me to stomach but in this case he’s got something we need to pay attention to. The views forced upon those students are so extreme they are criminal. Ignore laws, ignore the potential for drug addiction, ignore the potential to contract life altering even ending diseases, ignore the consequences of teenage pregnancy and ignore personal responsibility… Just do what feels good. That has to be the most insane and dangerous bunch of BS I’ve ever heard young adults forced to listen to. The extreme left and the extreme right work hard to move us as far away from common sense as possible. Tom |

Title: Re: You either like him or not..... Post by Paul98 on May 30th, 2007, 10:37pm The school systems in the US are out of control. They were hijacked by political groups, the students dumbed down and standards lowered to hide this fact all the while school boards screaming for more money. Yea, lets throw more money at...that will work....NOT! My school taxes have gone up double digit EVERY year for the last 15 years. Swimming pools instead of text books, touchy feely courses instead of reading, math and science. The tax payers of that school district ought to sue to get their taxes back and have the school board thrown in jail. Rant off! -P. |

Title: Re: You either like him or not..... Post by taraann on May 31st, 2007, 8:11am Slightly off topic... but on with school rants. My son has a learning delay due to a severe speech delay. I wrote the school a letter and asked for a meeting asking for testing to find where he could get extra help to catch him up with his fellow students (this was last year he is now at the end of 1st grade). As a result they classified him as learning disabled due to the speech delay. Ok I agreed. Signed the IEP (Individualized Education Plan) and he has caught up amazingling. My son who up until recently only pretended can now read and write .. he has always shown effort but can now DO IT!!! HERE"S THE RANT My daughter does not have a delay. They tried to say she does. I agreed to have her tested just in case I was wrong. Most of her tests were border line for a learning disability. This didn't make sense to me. Then the school nurse came in and said maybe she needs glasses. So Sam and I said we would make her an eye appt right away. The school still pushed for us to sign that she had a learning disability before her eye appt. They pushed us almost daily. I said no. She had her eye appt yesterday and guess what she needs glasses. She was just having a hard time SEEing what the teachers where showing her! The school get's EXTRA FUNDING for kids with learning disabilities. So they lost money when we wouldn't agree for Toni!!! |

I agree with everything you said and more. If the 'taxpayers' would ATTEND school board meetings and let their WISHES be known, VOTE in school board elections and get people on the boards who AGREE with their wishes maybe things would change. Until we get back to READING, WRITING and RITHMATIC, and forget all this other poop, we're NOT going to change our schools. Sex education, drug stuff and all the other bull should be taught at HOME not in schools. It's time PARENTS took SOME responsibility for their kids - way past time actually. And Tara I'm with you -- don't listen to that Bull. I have a classmate who's mother was told that he couldn't learn because he had a "disability". She didn't listen. Lo and Behold - today he is a COLLEGE professor and seems just fine to me and anyone else who's around him for a few minutes. Don't know how he got that Phd with that learning disability. Hugs BD |
