i was just wondering if anyone ever hit there head before the ch's hit? i mean like a traumatic blow to the head. i've had ch's since i've been 21-22, but since i bounced my head off of concrete about 2 years ago i get them everyday, thank goodness for o2 and dhe

I hit my head, many times, during EVERY KIP 8 or above!!!

lol al... i'm not talking about when the beast visits, i'm more curious about any serious blows to the head, like falling, or blunt force traumas to the head!!

I went a$$ over teakettle on my bike when I was 15. Hit my head on a rock (no such thing as helmets back then, or if there were, they weren't considered cool). Took a ride in the ambulance and got the bridge of my nose stitched up. I still don't remember about a half an hour after the crash. My then girlfriend (now bride) tells me we rode our bikes back to our friend's house, about a quarter mile.

Of course, I didn't start dancing with the beast until I was 28 or so.

Lets see I started getting CH when I was 15 or so. Spent 8 years in the marines and have a tendancy to let my mout overload my a$$. So I have been hit in the head a few times but the best preventative I have found is.......

Nope was not a medic in the marines we let the navy take care of our boo boos. I was a sniper. But that was a long time ago. Now I am a paramedic for ambulance service and teach on the side.

Just wonderin' ... why did you bounce your head off the concrete ? Was it an asccident or an experiment ? Did you happen to catch it on video ?

lol i wish we caught it on video, would have sent it to america's funniest videos!! me and my friends got this brilliant idea to play catch in a dimly lit parking garage. to make a long story short when they threw the ball to me i lost it in the light and i tried to get out of the way(picture dodging like in the matrix).well anyway i lunged back a little too hard and lost my balance. end result my head bounced off the grond like three good times

thanks for the post mark, wow it looks like a lot of ch'ers hyave smacked their head. i just hope that with the recent exposure we've had hopefully we can get some research done

Hit my head on the dashboard of a 1951 Packard in 1953 courtesy of a tree at Lake Erie State Park but CH took 16 years to make me want to do it all the time during hits.

Fell off a second story balcony.... gashed my head open on concrete ... was young and shall we say ummm... not so bright at that point in time.....many stiches, a penrose drain, etc... etc... ( I was a military medic back then -- had I not been drunk as a skunk when it happened I probably could've stitched myself up .... ) :)

I think my CH started around that time or shortly thereafter; however, I think that is just a matter of coincidence. CH would've came whether or not I bumped my noggin... ;)

I read in one of Dr. Goadsby's books that the coorelation between CH and people that have had traumatic head injurys was on the order of ~ 30%. Much higher than any other coorelation. Scientifically it does not mean much though because it did not give refrence to ALL people that have had traumatic head injuries. Coule be 30% of the whole population has had head trauma.

Prior to onset of CH I have taken 2 good wacks. One when I was ~7 falling head first of a 12' slide and another when I was ~25 pitching off a dock hiting my temple on the side of a boat. Who knows what causes CH. I figure it is bad wiring in the hypothalmus from birth. I wish some research could be done to investigate the similarities and differences CH has to eppilepsy and seisures. I know some of the medication that works for seisures works (for some) with CH. I think there is a link between eppilepsy-CH and the pituitary. Perhaps a very specific form of eppilepsy is what we have.....

I have never hit my head in a traumatic fashion, I was a gymnast and had many other body parts injured, but never my head...

CH started for me when I was 12 years old with nothing prompting it...sorry, add me to the 70% that DOESN'T have a traumatic head injury in the past... ;)

Hit my head a couple of times and saw stars ( I thought that only happened in cartoons....ha), I've never been knocked out. I think it's just a bad hypothingy that we are born with and it is somehow activated. Activated by what.............who knows?

Actually Brad's ch started up after sumone dropped a hammer onto his head from the roof of a garage.....he was just starting to climb the ladder to go up onto the roof with the neighbor helpin him install a satillite dish when the guy dropped it. That was around 20 yrs ago......so we always wonder'd about that ! Crack'd head Pam
