Title: UP AGAIN Post by tanner on May 25th, 2007, 2:19am I don't like to originate so many threads but, how long can a body go with an hour of sleep a night. I am using melatonin. Have altered my eating habits so as not to eat for several hours before bedtime and am more active then I have been for many moons. What does it take? I will not let this beast beat me down again like it has before so I must stay positive for Linda and family....but I am starting to freak. Hangin in, hangin on........Tim |

Tim, like Bill suggests, Benadryl might help you. It doesn't necessarily stop the nighttime hits, but I found it useful in helping me get back to sleep more easily in between hits. I'm sorry to hear about the sleep deprivation--as if dealing with the pain isn't bad enough. |

Title: Re: UP AGAIN Post by Langa on May 25th, 2007, 9:43am Tell me about it. Having a serious bout of insominia myself...luckily, not due to getting hit. I think i've slept 4 hours in the last 3 days and am starting to suffer all kinds of weird crap now...vertigo, cognitive issues. Oh, and my old friend, Melatonin, has taken a vaca on me...not working either. Perhaps a stiff drink would knock me out, but am afraid of a hit. I'm getting desperate though. Hope we both get our much needed zzzzzzzz's soon. Langa |

Title: Re: UP AGAIN Post by Brewcrew on May 25th, 2007, 11:01am 50mg of Benadryl can mean the difference between waking up 8-10 times a night and waking up once - when my alarm goes off. |

Title: Re: UP AGAIN Post by taraann on May 25th, 2007, 1:52pm I often wonder the same thing tim when I go long stretches with tidbits of power snoozes. I am thankfully sleeping again (((knocking on wood))) this past week and a half for about 5 straight hours a night. Topamax is maybe my miracle drug after 9 years of trying just about everything else. Just don't give up hope! You will sleep again! But even before topa I would just suddenly start getting some zzz's again... then stop sleeping again etc etc. Sending some sleep vibes your way! |
