for all the cards and messages, they are appreciated. I guess an update is due. Frieda is still in ICU at Wadley Reginal in Texarkana, there has been some improvements, she is still on a ventilator and is being kept in a drug induced coma. Her prognosis is a little better. She had a gall stone and refused to have it taken care of. It turned gang green and spread to her liver. They operated and removed all they could. While under the knife she had a heart attack, then developed pneumonia. Diabetes became a factor too, so if your a diabetic, keep up on that. She's a tough o'l bird.

While we were down there I went to a Dr's visit with my Pop. I thought something was wrong by the way he was acting. The news wasn't good, but could have been worse. He had been having trouble with his throat, turns out he has cancer in both his throat and stomach. If it wasn't for his heart condition and emphasema it wouldn't be much of a problem. It's not a killing cancer as the doctor put it. It was caused by taking antacids throughout his lifetime. It doesn't respond well to Chemo but his options are limited. He is going to have a feeding tube implanted in his stomach on the 30th of this month and begins chemo soon after. He puts up a good front and his spirits are high. He's a tough o'l bird too.......

Again thank you all, your well wishes and prayers have been appreciated. Nothing like family during the hard times.

Pop called last night, he and a very nice lady from here on the board had a very long conversation that really lifted his spirits. He has been worried about making trips back and forth from the VA in Shreveport, she offered to take him to his appointments when my brother can't get off work or my uncle scares him to bad with his driving. Barbara, what can I say other than Thank You, you truly are a wonderful and Kind person. You set his mind at ease.....and mine too. He read some of the cards he had received from the people here to me, just knowing that people out there cared whether he lived or died really made an impact on him, and on me. You guys are a wonderful group of people and I am proud to call you ALL my friends. Thank you, thank you, thank you. He has an atlas that he keeps track of all the places he has been and has been marking the places each card has come from. It has given him something to do to take his mind off of depressing matters.

Frieda has been taken off the life support and is breathing on her own, She is awake and complaining about Melissa driving her car, so she must be feeling better. She isn't out of the woods yet but she has beaten the odds they give her so far.
