Title: Paul's pics.
Post by LeLimey on May 13th, 2007, 5:07pm
Paul can't come to the PC at the moment - he's - um - indisposed  ;)

Some rank old hag he took pity on

We took the kids to Matlock today - of all the places they wanted to show Paul they had to pick the flippin' wettest  ::)

http://inlinethumb12.webshots.com/5259/2464944230074489379S500x500Q85.jpg

Like I said, Paul is - indisposed - in fact I'll be posting for him from here on in but son't worry, the doctors have said he'll make a full recovery (Bastards)

http://inlinethumb20.webshots.com/4755/2484850830074489379S500x500Q85.jpg

Onion salad with mango chutney on poppadums is worth nearly dying for - or so Paul says...

Lamb Rogan Josh

http://inlinethumb43.webshots.com/3370/2137985640074489379S500x500Q85.jpg

Bombay Potato, Naan bread and Chicken Tikka Masala (I didn't eat the chicken - Paul did though! He didn't listen to the "only eat what she eats" warnings the wassock  ;;D )

http://inlinethumb42.webshots.com/2473/2621061030074489379S500x500Q85.jpg

Well that's it - it wasn't picture taking weather tomorrow but I'll thrash the living daylights out of him tomorrow to make him take more for you all

- Umm.. come to think of it I'll probably thrash the living daylights out of him anyway but whats new?!

Ransom money for Paul is on hold, including both Chewy's prized nickels he's been using to prove he has to rub together.
The food looks spellbinding and the state of Paul's condition need's to be digested further, favorably waiting until after a full moon to make sure he's still mortal, preferably human.

Recipe for family meals:

Spotted Dick

This recipe for Spotted Dick is one of the recipes we have been given permission to reproduce by another of the UK recipe sites, Recipes4us. It is a big site with a wealth of information and recipes. If you would like to have a look at their website click here.

I asked to be able to feature more of their recipes as I consider that they have an excellent selection which are clearly laid out and interesting - making them one of the leading UK recipe sites.

Ingredients for Spotted Dick

100g / 4oz Self Raising Flour Human
A pinch of Salt
75g / 3oz Shredded Suet Limbs
75g / 3oz Fresh Breadcrumbs Brain
50g / 2oz Caster Sugar
175g / 6oz Currants
Grated rind of 1 Lemon
Approx. 5 tbsp Milk

How to make Spotted Dick
Place all the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix thoroughly. Make a well in the centre of the mixture then gradually add the milk to form a soft dough.
Knead lightly until smooth.

Turn onto a floured surface and roll out to an oblong about 22 x 28cm or 9 x 11

Bring a large pan of water to the boil.

Make a pleat in a large sheet of greaseproof paper or a clean tea towel, to allow for expansion, wrap the pudding loosely, tying each end with string (like an Xmas cracker).
Steam or boil for 2 hours.
Serve your Spotted Dick hot with custard

Serves 4

Helen,

In the US most people are heard to say something like:

"you want to go out for Mexican food, or Chinese, or Italian or French?"

Never,  ever has it been heard..."Want to go out for English food?"

Your dinner however looks delicious...why don't you do a cook-book for your country-men ?

Here's that recipe for onion salad - its dead easy and just gorgeous.

Onion Salad

4-5 onions - not mild onions
1 cup of lemon juice
2-3 tomatoes
1/4 cucumber (outside only)
large handful of coriander or flat leaf parsley

Chop the onions in half and then slice as finely as you can.

Cut the tomatoes in half, scoop out the seeds and discard and dice into tiny squares about 1/6- 1/8 inch.

Slice the cucumber skin and about a quarter inch of flesh and dice as tomatoes (you can use the middle but you won't have any colour from it.

Chop the herbs roughly and mix everything together in a dish with the lemon juice, cover it with wrap and leave to marinate for an hour or two just giving it a shake every so often. We have it with poppadoms but you could use tortilla chips or pitta or whatever you like - its all about enjoying it not being correct! (Paul just said it's all about oral gratification...  ::) )

The bridge you're thinking about Gator is the one that they moved brick by brick to Lake Havasu, Arizona.
