Title: My little guy could use some vibes & prayers Post by Sean_C on Apr 27th, 2007, 6:20pm He's going for surgery on Tuesday morning at Childrens/Boston to repair/create and mend some of the stuff inside him that isn't functioning properly. He'll be admitted Monday morning for the bowel prep, mri's etc etc. His surgery will be around 10 hours. When he wakes up his legs will be taped together and he'll be bound to the bed so that he can't move, unfortunately for 2 to 3 weeks, I guess its imperative that he doesn't move for a successful chance, which for a 5 year old is going to be very frustrating :( We've spent months preparing for this so please keep your fingers and toes crossed that all goes well. I'm gonna check out for the weekend, and I'll be camping out at childerns with him at night so Barb can come home. I know the hell you're going through intimately and my heart goes out to your and your family. You do know that God keeps a special supply of miracles for the patients in Children's Hospitals right? That's where he send his Senior Angels to work. Colin will come through this with flying colours. Father, please guide Colin's surgeon's today, grant them the wisdom and patience they need to do their job correctly. Title: Re: My little guy could use some.....(UPDATE) Post by Sean_C on May 1st, 2007, 11:56pm I can't tell you how much this family means to me, your all angels ;;D Colin went in at 6:30am on the nose and came out at 8pm. All went according to plan, the doc said he is a brave little man, one of his best patients ever ;) He came too at about 10pm, woke up to me and mom, the nurse started to prop his bed up and he told her to STOP, he said he wanted to push the buttons [smiley=laugh.gif] GOD I lost 500 pounds of my chest when he said that, I instantly knew all was going to be ok ;;D He's resting comfortably, he will have his epidural in for about 5 days to help with the pain, and then they'll try oral meds. Docs optimistic about everything and we're hoping to be home in 2 weeks ;) Colin sends his love to ALL, as does Barb, & Meghan. You'll be amazed at how quickly he will recover, too - kids are just amazing with their healing. I'm so glad to hear they will be covering his pain (and immobility) with an epidural, I was so worried about that. Take him lots of books, puzzles, games for the next while - you'll find that boredom will be a force you have to reckon with for him. Isn't it wonderful to have to worry about boredom? :) YAY!!! :) Thanks for letting us know, Sean. |
