Title: Lost a friend
Post by Callico on Apr 19th, 2007, 12:16am
Heard on the news Tues. evening that Lance Corporal Jesse Delatore was killed in Iraq.

You don't know him I know, but he was in band with my two oldest kids.  A great kid that stood up for the underdog and would step in whenever he saw someone else being mistreated.  He was the kind of kid that carried his Bible to school with him (public school), not to push his religion on someone else, but so that he could share it and answer questions when someone brought them to him, which they did a lot.

He didn't have to enlist, as he had a good job and a good future, but he saw a need and felt the responsibility to step in and try to meet it.  Knowing Jesse I know he would say it was worth it, but he will be missed by a lot of us here.

Any prayers for his family would be worth it.

Semper Fi Jesse.

Jerry

It doesn't matter how often we hear of another fallen hero, it breaks my heart every time.  All my thought and prayers are with you, his family and to any one who was lucky enough to call him their friend.

Standing in silence, amongst the graves
Hanging at half-staff Old Glory waves
The gun salutes slice through the mid-day
As those who've gathered, bow heads to pray.
The bugle sounds a sad somber tune
For the lives of Soldier's lost too soon
Men and women who answered the call
Serving their country, giving their all.
Caskets draped in the red, white and blue
Honoring our Heroes brave and true
Courageous souls willing to defend
Their beloved nation to the end…

Thank you Lance Corporal Jesse Delatore, Thank you

Sounds like we need more kids like him. A shame.

I am Truly sorry for your lose

Maybe all kids should carry bibles to school..

I say my prayers and know they are heard and will pray for him.

He is in Gods hands now and I couldn’t think of a safer place to be.

The emptiness we are left with is over baring confusing and test our faith.

Stay strong In believing that we do not have to understand, what we were clearly not meant to.

I have also lost many in this life
