Dang it's cold and windy here this week. Easter weekend and the City Sponsored Egg hunt this weekend is going to be a fridged one. Wind chills in the single digits, kids will be so bundled up I would love to see how they waddle in the snow suits as they hunt eggs at the park. But I'm planning on curling up with a book and some wine all weekend. I took a vacation day Monday, so I'm looking forward to a long de-stressing weekend.

Ahhhhh calgon take me away!

I started a week of vacation at 17:00 today. Not back in the office until Monday 04/16.

The 7-day forecast doesn't show the temp getting above 40.

You know what they say - a bad day fishing is still better than a good day in the office.

This still sucks.

Turned off cold here too. Sun's out but the temp dropped down in the 50s. Maybe this is out last bout of winter.

This is Good Friday and the day you're supposed to plant peas.... No this old Granny. Arthur (Mr. Ritis) showed up on my doorstep this morning (he likes cold weather) so Granny is trying to keep off his advances right now.

Haven't you heard? It's global warming! I actually had one stupid fool tell me that global warming is what is making it colder this winter than normal. [smiley=huh.gif]

I'm sponsoring an Easter Egg hunt for 150 low income kids tommorow.

I guess I'll be handing out small bags of ice melt so they can find the damn eggs.

75 degrees today, and the lilacs are about ready to bloom. Ah well. Sorry I don't have a horror story. [smiley=laugh.gif]

We've had highs in the mid 80's all week, but tonight it's going down to the mid 40's......this in southwest Florida?

I'm not really complaining tho, I like cool nights (and not too humid and warm days).

Once the high humitidy kicks in, we're suffering. Right now it's dry and the brush fires are numerous. I don't know when we had a rain last. All the vegitation is brown.

I agree Peg! I'm getting a little tired of this cold/rainy/windy weather myself. Try to have a good Easter anyway.

I think the landlord turned the boilers down a tad early this year. I have a space heater going to try to warm up my fingers and toes. turtleneck with a thermal Harley shirt over that... I'm still cold.

Warm weather...that stays around for a while..can't come to soon for me. This crazy back and forth and back and forth, 70 degrees to 3 feet of snow bsack to 70 degrees back to sub zero windchills. Either stay cold or get warm already.

Well... we got lots of snow last night! The sun is melting it right now, but we'll have some cold days coming up next week.

Still winter here too. Trees are trying to bud but old man winter won't cut us any slack yet! Last Sat. was a deck day with a BBQ and a beer(or two) ::) [smiley=laugh.gif]

I just want to swat at some skitter's and blackflies sooooon!

It was in the mid 70s to low 80s last week.... It snowed Friday night temps dropped to upper teens to low 20s..... yesterday didn't break 40 degrees.... winter needs to go away now as the leaves were green -- note the use of were ---

If someone had told me I'd be driving in a near white-out - the first week of April - in Pennsylvania - and not in the mountains, I would have laughed.

But last night it happened - turning a usual 1.5 hour drive into a 3 + hour ordeal. 80 miles of continuous near blizzard conditions before breaking out of the storm. I've made this same drive through numerous winter storms but few as contstant as this one. Some spring.

Hey Red...my username is sldrswyfe but my name is Sherri...good to meet you. Get this Red, up until this past September, I lived in Florida for the past six years...I am now in Pa..where I was born and raised..but this cold has killed me....and my SKIN!!! My face is so dry, I have such a bad dry patch on the side of my nostril...I mean my skin in flaking off. That adds to the depression of the cold...it's a BIG adjustment to be back...the weather - tropical climate to THIS [smiley=bigcry.gif] the landscape - i walked out of my apt and to my left was a pool surrounded by Palm trees, and in front of me was a fountain surrounded by a mile wide lake with ducks, cranes, and other things I couldnt identify...it was cute when there were baby ducks...from that to walking out my front door into the hallway out through the locked entrance to the driveway...where it's freezing and windy...I have really had a hard time. And I was always tan in Fl...and I pms'ing right now...so I feel worse about all of it...So Im with you....enough of this [smiley=wave.gif]"See ya Winter, dont let the door hit you on the ass on your way out..." Spent the weekend thawing pipes and choping holes in ice from the lake to get water to flush toilets. Shoveling snow because I got the car royally stuck in the drivway. I wish Al "I invented global warming" Gore was there to give some of his gas bag hot air and melt some of the ice and snow. ;;D
