Title: For you Myspacers
Post by JenniferD on Mar 30th, 2007, 5:51pm
I started this post on myspace.  If you feel so inclined, please follow.

"We are 176 MILLION strong and with those kinds of numbers, we can make a HUGE impact!

This Easter (or whatever spring holiday you observe) lets put some food on hungry people's tables.  If every one of us bought $10.00 worth of food and took it to your local food bank or social services, we'd buy over 1 BILLION, 670 MILLION dollars worth of food for the hungry.

We sit in our cozy homes with enough money for a computer and online service and there are those who have to choose between food and bills.

Myspacers are given a less that positive reputation. Let's show the world what we are capable of giving back.

Post this on your bulletins, send it to all your friends, tell your groups about it!  We can make a HUGE difference in many many lives. Remember, Easter is a week from this Sunday! Count your blessings, then bless someone else!

All the best,
Jen (Chit Happens) "

I got to thinkin' this afternoon about this for the following reason:  my bosses were embezzled a few years back, and the chick that stole from them used some of the money to buy a bunch of videos to start her own video store. The vids and dvds were recovered and returned to the owners, who were disgusted by their very presence in the stockroom. So they told me to get rid of them- they didn't care how.

I sold all 570 plus movies and used the money to purchase food for our local social services. That way, I took something bad, and made something good happen out of it. The bosses are very pleased.

Darryl and I have this thing about buying turkeys at thanksgiving or christmas, even if we are really hitting hard times, we always are reminded that there are others who are far worse off than we, and who are we to complain when we have a nice home, food on the table, and can make ends meet.

So even if you can't afford $10.00 (which believe me, I have BEEN THERE),  even one can of veggies or something multiplies when many add to it.

Lets feed some hungry people.

Jen
